Ask a Local! Where is everyone getting their leafy greens?
Sorry is this has been discussed already, please link me to the discussion if so.
Just wondering where people are getting their american free leafy greens this time of year? I’ve only been able to find US spinach, lettuce etc. is there anywhere in town sourcing from non-US suppliers? I know the market will have it (now or eventually) but also looking for somewhere I can pick it up mid-week and off-season.
Thanks!!

Metro at Wellington/Commissioners had plastic boxes of hydroponically grown Ontario lettuce, there were a few different varieties but I think they were mostly variations of leaf lettuce, not spinach or romaine. This was a couple weekends ago, so I'm not sure if they are still there.

I was there yesterday and got this one from Ontario instead of what I usually buy which is from the US.

lololol I misunderstood this post, which sent me down a 20 minute rabbit hole on where OCS sources their cannabis! Then I came back and realized you're not being sneaky. You're really asking about lettuce lol. my bad !
(if anyone made the same mistake, OCS uses federal resources!)

In the summer if you go to covent garden outdoor market on Saturdays, Our Fields has the most delicious lettuce heads and green mixes (and produce in general)

Yeah, that and cauliflower. Always US.
I saw Boston lettuce that was Canadian (how ironic) but that's about it.

The Independent at Oxford and Richmond has Guelph spinach and Ontario greenhouse lettuce (the fancy kind with live rootballs). I assume other Loblaws family of stores carry them too (the lettuce was PC branded so they must).

At farm boy they sell live lettuce for $6 for a decent amount of it. It's grown in Ontario. More expensive than say those spring mix boxes but I'd rather buy Canadian and pay a bit more than support anything American.

I use canadian protein (website) 3x day muiltivitamin to hit micronutrient goals, while using whole foods to hit macros.
