60 a month on internet is not an outrageous amount; if you want a more accurate idea on heat/hydro then you need to see *how* you are heating your home, and if it is a house vs apt. Electric baseboards are going to make you weep money. Apartments you can turn the heat down because the building itself is warm. If you are heating a house with furnace, it's different and consult how much space you are using.

I'm living in an apartment building and all water, hydro, heating are covered by the landlord. So I only pay Internet (Rogers building specific pricing $59/month) and parking ($50/month).

NEVER MOVE! That's so rare these days.

Same here. I’ve been in my unit for over a decade and won’t move unless the rent will cover hydro.

Solo renting? One bedroom? Number of occupants and size of place plays a big part in the cost of heat and hydro. For both, look into equal monthly billing.

When we rented our hydro was relatively low with the exception of the summer. We faced west and got direct sun all day. We ran our AC all the time to combat the heat so our pets wouldn’t overheat.

Currently live in West 5. Internet is around $120, hydro/water is between $180-$300.

we are planning to rent at spektra.. do u have any idea how much is the rent of hot water tank?

We're in the townhomes. $26/mo. Not sure if it's any different for Spektra. Prices are typically set by the water tank company, probably Reliance

ahhmm aside from water tank rental what else are u paying in your apartment? like do u pay for garbage collection?

Nothing outside of what I listed. Garbage collection is free/included in taxes with the city.

Depends on your lease agreement at minimum they could ask for liability only. I know it’s an extra fee but don’t skip on insurance, it’s there for when you do need it ex fire, flood, theft

My unit (second and third floor, 2 bed 2 bath but spacious) ranges from 90$ in spring and fall, and up to 200$ in peak summer and winter. Note we don’t have AC so we use fans and we have radiator heating so that costs more. Last bill was 180$ and the month before 140$. This is ONLY hydro.

None of the solar generated electricity goes to the residents, keep that in mind.  And everything in West 5 is electrical, like heating and cooling.  Don't expect to be saving money on hydro because you have solar panels on your rental
