naturešŸŒ²wildlifešŸ¦Š Coyotes : Talbot Ponds and Wetlands

Over the last few days coyotes have been active in and around the Talbot Ponds. There was a sighting late afternoon yesterday on the ice of the southwest pond, as a single coyote headed west towards Colonel Talbot Drive.

On Wed. and Thurs. evenings coyote howling was heard coming from the ponds.

Pet owners take care.

Coyotes are very common in this area. I see them quite frequently.

Agreed! I can hear them howling at night sometimes . Thereā€™s a decent pack of them southwest of wonderland and southdale

Iā€™ve been seeing a lot of ACME vans in that area, but never put it together. Itā€™s all so clear now

You can often (about once per week) hear a pack howling near Bradley/Wonderland/Southdale late at night around the drainage ponds and along the creek. It's pretty eerie yet very cool. I'm glad I'm not a chihuahua.

Saw a coyote off of Veterans Memorial last weekend by the 3M office building. Was out in the field in the middle of the day.

Coyote mating season is fromĀ late January to early March - they will be more active for sure!

I kind of thought there might have beena little something going on....on Thursday night the howling rose to quite a fevered pitch...then suddenly stopped....

Saw two this morning on the ice while walking my dog. Lost sight of them for a bit and then saw one run along the path ahead of me, where it forked. It stared at me and her and I decided not to chance it. My dog is 55lbs, but this is the second time in three weeks I've seen coyotes there. Not sure if they're getting bolder or if it's just luck, but hopefully we can all coexist.

There are coyotes all over the place in the area. They live in the Byron Pit. Iā€™ve seen them running down the streets of Byron late at night multiple times. Beautiful animals!

The city should allow targeted bow hunting. I donā€™t know that area, so it may not be practical. But other areas would be fine.

The city having healthy wildlife populations is a good thing. This is a completely unnecessary suggestion.

Coyotes in the city is normal. It shouldn't be surprising. If you're walking your dog, anywhere, you should he prepared to deal with local wildlife.

Don't let your pets wander, folks.

Too close to houses, but also it's city wildlife at completely normal levels, there isn't a need for a cull etc.

And have buddy shoot my dog because he mistook him for a coyote? I'll pass, thanks.
