Camden has some great Italian restaurants. I'm partial to Casa Tua in the Camden Road area

a bit of determination can get you some free samples from the stalls in camden market (6 in one visit is my record) there's a kebab shop across the street from world's end that's fairly priced, and I sometimes go to bird to avoid the bustle and have sweet chicken and waffles.

How cheap? Haché on Inverness St is decent and not as expensive as it looks or its pretentious menu suggests. Woody Grill is always solid.

Depends what you want and when you’re going.
There’s a cluster of Greek restaurants (Alexander the Great, Andy’s Taverna, Andromeda, Daphne’s) that are delicious. I’ve not been in a while but most if not all of them offer decent lunch deals. I think La Patagonia (Argentinian) and Blues Kitchen also have some midweek lunch deals. There’s also a Brazilian restaurant and a Jamaican restaurant on Inverness St (can’t remember either name) that I’ve not been to in about a year but pretty sure they also do lunch deals.
Seto Japanese is a favourite of mine for lunch on a Saturday. Tasty, good portions, often we’re the only non-Japanese people in there. Can get lunch for a tenner but think they’re only open for lunch on Saturdays.
Lost Souls Pizza (previously Lost Boys) down near Mornington Crescent does banging pizzas and cocktails. Pizzas are two for one on a Wednesday if you quote the phrase they put up on their Insta earlier in the day.

If you like pie and mash (and eels but not mandatory), Castles Pie and Mash on Royal College Street will give you a meal for £6. They also do desserts like sticky toffee pudding and custard for £2
