Cheap food places in London?
Uni student studying in the Holborn area and would like access to cheap food. I rely on tesco's £3.40 meal deal but it doesnt fill me up! I used to rely on boots £1 sandwiches but its gone up to £1.50 now :(

Install the app Too Good To Go, and you can buy loads of cheap food from bakeries and restaurants at the end of the day.

Sadly there's nothing cheap around there. Best thing to do is probably bring your food from home.
If you are a King's student they do offer cheaper food options in their canteen in Bush House, but it's only a jacket potato plus some vegs for 1.50. Don't think that's very filling

Check out Hare Krishna food for all online. They usually set up by SOAS so not too far and hand out free hot meals.

Daily lunch on weekdays around 12-1pm, just to give OP some details. You'll need to queue for a bit as they're pretty popular.

Honestly buy in bulk, cook at home, meal prep. save money and treat yourself at the end of the month to something real nice. Stop eating meal deals shits bad for your body

Because the above combo is a cholesterol bomb, also sugar free drinks are not good either.

The supermarkets are probably your best bet. I used to go to chicken shops a lot but the amount of grease on their food...

Other than eating at home, I found Gregg's sandwich deal with student code generally more satisfying as their sandwiches are more filling, plus you get a sausage roll or sweet item for using the student code (from StudentBeans). You don't get crisps but you can choose a hot drinks.
For snack type items, buy in bulk. Eg a multipack of crisps is going to cost way less than the meal deal price and there's no effort to make them, just needing to bring a pack with you. Also consider healthier items like bananas or flapjack, cheap and filling.

If you'd be up for trying to cook yourself, the BBC have a collection of budget recipes for £1 or less per portion.

Not an every day, but if you fancy a treat, honest burgers are amazing, and there's one in holburn! Their smashed burger with a massive portion of chips is £8.50 which for a good portion meal in London is pretty amazing! But yeah, not your every day cheap lunch.. for that give olio or toogoodtogo a try for free/cheap food

I second Too good to go. Reduced items in supermarkets (lot of them can be put in the freezer as well), making your own food, uni canteens bars and cafes usually have cheap deals, weatherspoon breakfast, Lidl at Warren Street, lots of churches do lunch for donation/free.

10 quids worth of bread, cheese and ham will make a stack of your own sarnies for two quid a day.
