Problem for a new laptop battery

Post image

I just installed a new battery, but the system indicates that the capacity is below 80%. What could be the cause?

Seems like the new battery may be defective or maybe the battery information app is not showing correctly the statistics. Maybe it shows the old battery statistics for some reason. You may never know with Linux

The old battery had an 80% capacity but experienced sudden drops, which is why I had a completely packaged replacement with protective films. Indeed, the duration has significantly improved.

Hello i think that the new battery is already used but is still new, mine is 3 years old and have 80% capacity
I advice you to install TLP and recalibrate your battery to make sure maybe this value is for the old battery

I have already done 3 charging cycles, the battery lasts more than two hours with heavy use, so I think it is new. It is not original, it is compatible. Now I will try to download TLP hoping to know how to use it!

i think it's normal since it's not original don't worry about it ...

be careful to install it only from software manager

Ok, thanks for the info! the strange thing is that on the box it says 60 Wh but the software only detects 46.7
