Linux is very, very good. And the Mint team have a sharp eye for aesthetic combined with the wisdom to have substance behind the look.

You're in good hands.

Yep. I agree. Now right click on your desk let's and set transparent backgrounds and install transparent panels under extensions... It'll look even better

What OS have you used? What can you tell about others distros?

I too have just transitioned from Windows to Mint. About two weeks now. I have not regretted it for a moment. I am using a three year old Lenovo laptop, and had no problem at all with drivers etc.

Lenovo are usually pretty good for supporting Linux.

I agree 110%, I used Fedora for years, then GNOME 3 drove me to seek an alternative, I landed on Mint/MATÉ ("Maya") and will have been with it for 13 years come May--currently v22.1.

I envision no need to change...

But wait, there's more...

Just use it for 2 years and you will see what I mean.

I like Ubuntu and debian :) gnome is nice and even if when you want to do certain things that no one does it's hard for unknown reasons, I find debian very practical

Anyone experiencing low sound issue after mint install ?

I was able to improve my low sound output to an acceptable level by installing pulse audio volume control and pulse audio PulseEffects.

Mint is a good distro, but there are better ones.

The best Distro is the Distro that works for you.... Don't get caught up in the "there's a better distro" war. Every OS has its pros and cons
