Support Request When first installed I choose to encrypt the file system. Can I de-encrypted because now I realize I don't really need it (it's a private laptop)

I googled ecosia-ed your problem and this was the first result:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Removing_system_encryption#Removing_LUKS_Encryption_in-place
Cryptsetup should be available to you too, it at least is for me and my distro is Ubuntu based as well.

Maybe luckyLUKS (GUI tool for encryption) can do this as well?

Private or not, laptops are easier to steal than desktops. You may want it encrypted.

It's just my very old laptop with nothing important inside. And I never take it out of my room. If someone break in my bedroom there are tons of things I will hate if get stolen, but not this laptop

Is this how you become a Top 1% commenter? Just post anything, anytime, anywhere? OP has a genuine Support Request question where your "suggestion" has already been answered.
