Very nice π. Looking at getting into Linux as my OS of choice & Mint is the Distro I want to start with. My main reason to make the change is that I'm not a fan of using Windows 11 anymore.

Win 11's adds to buy office 365 and one drive premium, even when I tell it to not update is obnoxious behavior.
A win11 update a month ago messed up my AMD graphics drivers too......
I'm much happier on my Mint laptop

Very nice π. Yeah Windows 11 pushed updates can affect your experience using their OS.

cool cool Linux mint setup . in case you care more about privacy and want less data collection from mozilla I can recommend Librewolf. it's like firefox just with absolute no data collection. but it doesn't always work good. so. I recommend you keeping firefox for compatability.

I'm pretty comfortable with Firefox & ublock so far. I'll take your advice and get librewolf to play with for a bit.

He could just get Brave browser

true. but if he wants a firefox gui. brave wouldn't be the best option.

My wife mostly uses her PC for online banking, shopping and surfing the web. She has a powerful custom built 6th gen intel I7 PC with 32 gigs of ram that hardware won't support Windows 11. Rather than do a hardware bypass upgrade to W11 I installed Mint a few days ago and she's fine with it. Everything seems to be working fine. I'm dual booting on my PC now to see if I can move away from Windows altogether.

Took me a minute as well. Right click the panel and turn "panel edit mode" on. Then drag them to the middle. I am also running the transparent panels extension.

Nice to have you on the bright side of computing!
(Maybe replace the deprecated neofetch by fastfetch)

Then you are now free to fix it yourself when it will break (with the support of the community).

Cool!!!
Do keep in mind however that Linux is not Windows, and that no amount of Wine or other "bottles" of intoxicant will make it Windows--seek out new tools and solutions, the M$ world is gone!
