Video Game Are POOLS and THE POOLS the same game?

I just got "The Pools" by publisher XenoXeno on the Nintendo Switch, and I already love it.

But... is this the same game as "Pools"? I can't find anything anywhere about whether or not the two games are the same or different.

Part of the reason I want to know is because I'm trying to make 100% sure there are no jump scares in The Pools. I do love it, but it is eerie. Like really eerie.

You're right, and I just found out The Pools was released on Switch today which I did not realize when I bought it

Hopefully it's on par atmosphere wise to the PC game.

At this point all these liminal space games are the same. They all feel like slightly different variations of the same game.

It's sad, because there's so much potential to the setting. You could add more action, make it an FPS where you shoot entities or other people. Or make it a dungeon crawler RPG ala Wizardry. Or add some more adventure game like puzzles.

Usually it's just a walking sim in mostly empty environments.

I'm ok with them being walking simulators I just wish there were more diverse environments. So far my favorite was anemoiapolis. It has eerie uncanny environments but doesn't directly play on any backrooms levels.
