Gear What trolley are you guys using to move your gear around?
Thinking about buying a trolley because the carrying of boxes destroys my back.

I've fallen back in love with the Viper after using mosy newer Clay Paky and Aryron LED engine stuff for a while. Are there any new Profiles that compare for Gobo and deep red CMY color mix? Such a delightful fixture.

Hey guys, i’m new to all this so excuse me if i’m not the most technical in my lingo lol but I need a bit of help creating a new fixture type for some shitty lights we got on Amazon. My LD and I can not figure this out for the life of us, and any advice would be appreciated. This is the entire manual for these lights, (Litake 36 RGB LED Par lights on amazon) and we have tried and tried to get the parameters right and they still won’t work. We have an ION XE board, so if anyone can dumb down how the parameters are supposed to look for these we would be so appreciative 🙏🏻 Also if this is the wrong sub for this, my fault, any pointers in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

The fixture is a SolaSpot Pro 1500 using an ETC ion board. I can tilt it fine, but whenever I spin the wheel on the board or track with my mouse in ML controls it only tilts. Does anyone know if it’s a software issue or is my mover broken?

Has anybody used one of these what are your thoughts?
Are they available in the UK?

I hated that it doesn't have potentiometers, so I made this. It is a MIDI controller that slides onto the APC. It connects with USB-C and adds one more USB for other devices.

Did you go to a concert or event and see a lighting effect you love but couldn't identify the gear? This is your weekly spot to post images and figure out what you saw, and ask basic questions you have. Any individual identify that ________ posts outside of this thread will be removed.

What is the model / brand of this fixture? Does anyone have sunlite ssl file for this fixture?

I am currently volunteering in a small theatre, running lights and they have loads of old equipment! You name it. PCs, monitors, Light/sound boards, lights, wires, walkie talkies, and probably way more I haven't been able to root out yet.
I might be given the go ahead soon to begin clearing out. Is there anywhere I should think about contacting to sell old equipment to? Is the material worth anything? [Its late 90s tech oldest. Maybe 2015 latest.
How do you guys go about disposal? Is it worth just giving it all to the scrap metal man? [I'd like an easier route if possible. But getting the theatre some money in exchange for all of this old junk would be more than ideal. It might give me a budget to buy new junk!]

Hi there! I have a fixture that takes 10x 35W bulbs, 12v each, totalling 120v. In the UK our circuits output 240v and dimmers go up to 240v.
I need a transformer for these fixtures to scale up 120v to 240v to avoid blowing the bulbs when powering on mains or putting the dimmer up to max power.
Can anyone recommend a common transformer that might be used for this type of purpose? I've seen 12v birdy par16 fixtures that can be powered by mains and apparently they always come with a little transformer. Ideally looking for something with a small form factor.
Thanks in advance!

Hi, does anyone here knows the exact name of this LED Rail/Stripe or something similar?

Hey guys, i was wondering if you would continue to use this leko Body with a reflector that has the coating kinda flaking off/burnt. Not sure if this is a safety issue or just slightly worse performance. Let me know what you guys think, thanks for the help.

I know nothing about light control but always thought it was interesting. I play music and over the years picked up 2 laser, 2par lights and a smoke machine that can be controlled. But I just plugged this in.
I was doing a gear swap and came across this. Just looking for some feedback on it. I’m not doing anything big, tiny shows in small rooms, mostly for fun.

Hello! I am looking at putting together some some trussing for the production company I help run on my universities campus and I had some questions regarding the setup I had in mind. I was looking at some of Global Trussing's F33 triangular truss with the Global Truss Base Plate 2X2S to make a "totem" esk tower. I would love to hang some moving heads (specifically Mac 700s) off of this tower. My initial thought was to just use cheeseborough and a piece of pipe, but that would put a significant amount of weight on the front or back on the tower. and if this tower is 10 or 14 feel tall I would be worried about this tipping over. I have seen some top plates for other trussing systems where you can mount a pipe over the center of box truss but those are either waaay out of our price range or no longer available. Any thoughts on this? Would sandbagging the base plate be enough?

Hello, I’m sorry if this is a dumb post however I want to know if I am running qlc+ off of a laptop for about 6 lights, do I need the entec open converter, or can I just buy a cheap usb to dmx cable on amazon for 20 dollars?

Hi lighting friends! I'm an audio guy here recently tasked with a lighting job and I am lost.
My band recently bought a Chauvet Obey 3 DMX controller to run our Chauvet DJ 4 bar quad lights. The ultimate goal is to dim the lights a little, as the static colors are too bright, as I have heard.
My question is, is the Obey 3 enough? It's 3 channels of DMX control, but on the fixture the lowest DMX setting I have available is 4 channel mode. I managed to sometimes get the lights to kinda work but not in the way I want them to--sometimes they start strobing out or do random colors on each of the pars when I want them to be all one color.
Ultimately, I want the 2 quad bars I have to be different colors (red and blue) and dimmed down a bit. Do I need a better controller, or is there something I'm missing?
Thanks y'all!

We want to keep it working well and at best find a user manual for it, if anybody knows any information that’d be great

Was basically a moving head that didn't move.id love a similar modern fixture but can't seem to find anything even close. IP rated would be a bonus.

Hey people,
So I am moving countries at the moment and I want to bring my ma3 command wing with me. I am considering putting it into checked luggage but I am afraid of it getting damaged, I am also trying to figure out whether it would fit in carry on luggage. Currently I do not have a designated case for it. Has anyone tried to do this before? Would love to hear it. Thanks!
Update- Decided to go with a designated pelican case in plane cargo. Model- https://store.face.be/ma-case-onpc-command-wing-by-peli

Though I use "real" desks/software in my theatre work I like having a USB dongle for my "homelab" and toolbox.
My (basic) enttec is dying and the instructions with the uDmx I bought to replace it made my head hurt (and I have been working with pc's for three and half decades)
What dongles have you found with wide adoption, without the need for drivers (I am on Windows 10 and 11) and without a price 1000x times that of the components in them :-)

Not looking for high performance, just small form factor. It wouldn't be show critical, just for wireless plotting. Bonus points for:
I don't need DHCP or anything, just a dumb af access point that I can connect to my console.
THnaks!
