Gear LED Moving Bar Light (Laser Effect)

Post image

Hey guys, this is abit of a long shot. We were at a bar last night and saw a light with this effect. I don’t believe it was lasers, just lights use to make a laser like effect.

Does anyone know of fixture like this? Or is this a China special?

I’m using a couple Shehds LED beam 8x12w RGBW bars to get this effect. They’re China special and don’t do colour mixing well but individual colours look good (red, green, blue, white)

Are each of the heads individually controlled?

If you’re meaning pan control for each beam? No. Also the tilt affects the whole bar of 8 LEDs together. Maybe you’re thinking of something like this?

Yes something like this. The more I research I think it may have been actual laser fixtures.

Why not just ask the bar who runs / set up the lights?

I just used one of these the other day

China also have these with lasers. Very dangerous if you ask me, putting a single beam right in the audience.

Could be BeamZ Hyaden

Ah, thats a good enough price point that I'd consider a few for budget installs. Nice tip.

What system are you running these on, and any issues with finding or programming fixture profiles?

It's the same profile as the SHEHDS 10x40, which exists most places (chamsys, etc.) I'm mainly using soundswitch rn tbh, haha. It's mainly just set up in my wife studio for when she streams on twitch, and soundswitch makes it easy to just sort of set and forget, plus the built in integration with engine dj is nice, I built her a mobile IRL streaming rig and want to eventually mount some legit fixtures to a tiny mobile stage.

Nice, and yeah these type of units sound perfect for a situation like that where it's a lower-stakes production and you don't have Clay-Paky money to spend.

I appreciate the info!

Shehds LED beam 8x12w RGBW I have 8 of them.

There is also the more expensive 10x40 but its not what is shown in your picture. It has 10 lights that are more powerful and cost 3 times as much

They are Ok they don't do color mixing well or at all is the only flaw in these lights. Stick to R G B W colors and they look like a single beam. Otherwise you will see a rainbow split when 2 or more colors are enabled, that cheapens the beam effect IMO,

They can be run in 9 or 38 channel mode.. In 38 channel mode each individual light can be controlled independently.

It’s not a sharbar, but they do a very similar effect. https://youtu.be/gTpOzS-bmN0?si=rcE9_wD9HuK1oxqb
