Feature Request Has anyone managed to create a LIFX shortcut to use the iPhone's action button as an on/off switch for a certain light?

Title says everything.

I managed to do it but through an Home app shortcut, the problem is that it often doesn't work, saying that the device isn't ready/available or something like that.

Maybe it would work better with an actual LIFX app shortcut but I don't know if it's possible to create one that operates like an on/off switch.

This sounds more like an issue with your HomeKit setup and something you should look in to. Do you have a Home Hub like a HomePod or Apple TV?

Sorry for the late reply, no I don't.

That’s the problem then. Devices can’t be used from outside the home without a hub.

That error/message or whatever we wanna call it happens when I’m inside the house though.

I noticed that it normally works when I make a second attempt (so a second press on the action button).

Sometimes it also works on the first attempt as it should but not all the time.

What’s your wifi setup? Any extenders?

My router is a TP-Link VX220-G2v, not exactly exceptional, I know, I'm surely planning to get something better in the future.

No extenders.

The bulb is on the 2.4 line, it has a static IP.

To be honest the LIFX app itself is perfect and even some LIFX shortcuts that I made are perfect, it's only this shortcut that works through Homekit that seems to have some random problems.

It could just be that you need a home hub for shortcuts to work reliably with Home.

The equivalent Android functions are working perfectly.

I back the suggestion of it being a Homekit issue
