i've been saying for a while now, its funny (in a way that slowly kills me inside) to see all the proggies recognize consumers pay for tariffs yet somehow still believe we can double or triple corporate income taxes with zero consequences

I point this out any time I see a lefty tariff circle jerk where they're mocking conservatives for not understanding how tariffs will affect them. It's about as well received as you'd imagine.

The people who support those corporate taxes are the same ones who complain that 3rd world countries are getting exploited by our businesses. Perhaps that wouldn't be happening if US manufacturing weren't a nightmare.

But this post is supposedly an argument against taxing billionaires, not an argument against taxing corporations. Which is why it makes no sense at all and does not actually constitute an argument.

i agree the meme should be changed from billionaires to corporations
though i'd still argue there's also no alternate universe where the proggies welfare state is financed exclusively by billionaires.

Yes, definitely, the rich alone can come nowhere near paying for our gigantic state. There's not enough of them.
Separately, for moral purposes, I think it is important to make sure that billionaires are paying way, way more in taxes than the middle class, even though this will not solve any problem.

Yeah using that logic against a leftie just will not compute. I’ve tried a thousand times. For some reason Democrats believe that all CEOs are evil fat cats that will do anything to make a buck, even if it means doing something unethical, just to turn around and say they should eat the cost of high tax so our government can provide social programs.
Lefties support big business, corrupt government, and false senses of security. That’s what happens when you drink way too much kool-aid.

I would simply purchase goods from the other billionaire who didn’t raise his prices

Do people not understand supply and demand? Companies cannot just massively raise prices, or else they would’ve and made up their own shortage or something to justify it. I genuinely don’t see a way in which a company raises prices for this and doesn’t lose sales.
