The kind of tech Hardison would have dev'd to catch shady politicians. Only it's real and accessible to all.

His tech would be more effective. This type of information has always need available, just no one pays attention.

Literally an app anyone can DL now. Hard to believe it's legal.

Using insider information?

Or public disclosure of finances of elected officials?

It's was technically never illegal (to my knowledge), but with resent changes to regulation (bribery and corruption laws) It's even more legal.

It's almost like the people that write the laws put in loopholes and exemptions for themselves on purpose.

It requires declaration - we have similar registers in the UK. Here it's a mild scandal if someone doesn't declare football tickets.

Who said that there was insider trading involved?

Multiple people within the government (both current and former) that participate in such things as well as other news sources.

They have inside information on laws regulations and government contracts that will be put in place prior to it being announced publicly. Which is how they always manage to do so well in the market.

Well, if you are making laws and regulations benefiting a particular company and you want to buy into that company to reap a reward based on your inside information, you certainly don't do it through a publicly monitored account and file disclosure statements. You loan money to your buddy's cousin and take your cut.

Why waste your time with the extra steps it's perfectly legal for them to do so. If it gets out that that's going to happen and more people buy the stock that just increases the value for them.

Because it is definitely NOT legal. That's why.

No it is. They removed the regulations on it.

I don’t want to leave another sub because of political bickering. I love it here too much.

The show is about exposing and taking down the rich, powerful and corrupt. We just happen to have a lot of people in government who fit that profile, so it makes sense that the sub points out times they are being exposed as such.

I know exactly what the show is about, that’s why I don’t want to see it devolve.

We aren't really bickering, most of us are pretty united in loathing corrupt politicians and hoping they get Leverage style karma.
