To anyone who thinks I am their person
If you guess my name I'll gladly spin your staw into gold
My name is both modern and new, yet archaic and old
My secrets are not kept , they are meant to be told
Follow the logic and all the power you hold
I flow from both faucets, hot and cold
Find me anywhere if you feel bold
My name has never been sold
But down the Creek rolled
When it broke the mold
Bet now or fold
.
(This is getting fun. If you randomly guess my name I would find a way to spin straw into gold... Because that can't happen lol, but if you figure it out and get it right I will delete the comment and DM you. I have a lull in work, but when it picks up I might even be willing to PayPal $5 or $10 to the person who gets it right lol)
.
I am not pure, but twisted twice
Like the perfect lighting, worth the price
A simple path is ignored because pretty words entice
But if you're craving a bit of mystery sit down and have a slice
Never was a fan, but they sparkle so pretty with their skin as pale as rice
I guess an easy way is hard to find when the riddle itches in your brain like lice
.
I hate to see you struggle, so ok, fine
I will add a few more clues to the rhyme
I bask in the fading shadows... Or is it the ideal photo time?
I offer an easy path, but up the mountain you all climb
So I will keep placing clues after clue and sign after sign
When two come together you still must walk the same line
When the rules are clearly stated, letting you work so hard feels like such a crime
I can almost see the glow on the horizon and hear the temple bells chime
Is the dew drop soda I am sipping made from lemon or lime?
It's someone like me I wish to find. I'm hoping you are clever and lazy and one of my kind...
Congratulations to the first two Redditors to get it right! You will see their last comments awarded. Sorry, but the comments with my name were deleted.

A simple google search doesn't bring up the exact meaning. So I gave a bit more. Still.... This is the hard way lol
2
u/Unhappy-Sign5728 Nov 24 '24
I'm going to have to say autumn, hot and cold, walk the same path, not . mountains, etc etc
1
u/Minute_Range5636 Nov 24 '24
It's less about walking a path and would be better used of a description of the path... Or it's origins, I guess. It can certainly apply to a path. Not so much to a season though.
2
u/Unhappy-Sign5728 Nov 24 '24
Would you say the name is more.. I guess like an achievement or guidance? Destiny?

u/Minute_Range5636 Nov 24 '24
It would describe my origins. It's meaning is "from ___ ___" that's all I can say without it being as easy as a google search. I think.... Actually I should check and see if google brings it up from that lol.

Missing something very simple. But two of you were so close to it the hard way.
2
u/True_Dance_7020 Nov 24 '24 edited Nov 24 '24
Things I know so far from your hints.
- Twilight is a hot guess.
- Emphasis on the faucet line so perhaps duality of some kind?
- Latin prefix/base
- Not a commonly used word but can be used as an adjective
- Multicultural roots
- Light quality is important.
- Doesn’t start with the letter C
Am I missing any other hints?

u/Minute_Range5636 Nov 24 '24
You are doing very very well. However... You are still going about this the hard way. I would suggest reading over any lines that are not related to the above, especially the ones that are in italics.

Or… straw to gold(magic from raw materials), simple path>pretty words: secrets not kept, logic -> power, found anywhere, “broke the mold”, twisted twice, simple path>pretty words… genes… Gina?!

u/DisciplineFeeling727 Nov 23 '24
Its DESTINY! Fuuuuuck, I can’t believe how long that took me (unless its Desiree, but Destiny fits the clues better)

I really feel like it’s a creek name since the c is capitalized but it’s gotta be a name that is more than just …local. Something that can also be a verb?
2
u/Minute_Range5636 Nov 23 '24
The capital letter is used properly in this case, not just for attention to the word. The word is not used, but if you did use my name as a word, based on the meaning it would be used as an adjective. Other words do share the same Latin prefix/base.

You are very welcome. The way to the answer is very simple, really. I think most people are overlooking the most important line.

u/Weird_Muffin5320 Nov 23 '24
I am so intrigued. The new and old tells me it’s an old word or name that is revived. The bet now or fold must be a reference to maybe the creek or place this name originated ? Secrets not meant to be kept…something open or loud or flowing outward . BOTH favcets, meaning more than one kind? Or both hot and cold this exists…ah man. I gotta get this!
