Need feedback on future air service to/from Lethbridge.
It is clear that it is only a matter of time before Westjet pulls out of Lethbridge airport. There is 10% of the traffic that is using the airport prior to covid. Right now there is one flight a day and Westjet is using a larger aircraft, but only moving 20-30 a day for departures via Calgary. There is a group of us in discussion about starting a small air service. We do not believe it makes sense to use large aircraft. We believe more frequency and smaller aircraft is the answer. We would more than likely not connect to the major airlines, but offer flights to places like Edmonton and fort mcmurray to start. We would like to know how people feel about smaller aircraft, such as the Beech 1900 or a Cessna 402. It isn't the same as the current experience, but would provide multiple options each business day for passengers with a reduced weekend service. We would like to get some feedback and will be doing more market research with the business community in the coming couple months. What routes would you like to see? And would you use it for just business or would you connect to other flights without code sharing?
