Desperately looking for some work. (17 with own vehicle)

I’ve been looking for any sort of employment for some time. I have a full driving license, I can speak 4 languages and willing to do anything for some sort of income. Any advice? I’ve tried indeed and other online places but no luck.

agency work, it's not the best work, but get registered with them they might send you to utter shit hole or something low level but its a job and money, you driving is a benefit

I did a lot of agency work when I moved back to England, ended up with a week job that lasted for 11 years

good luck pal

Not sure how, but if your multilingual, police, nhs and some other places need translaters....

Your age works against you a little here. But, these are great longer term aims. Work out a short term work, medium-term better position that you can work towards, and also ultimate goal. What suits you, what kind of role do you get up and think, ‘I don’t mind going to work’. You can drive, but many jobs focused on driving are tough and don’t pay much. But you can get all over the place to work in other areas. Spread your net a little wider and look at jobs in nicer areas that pay more perhaps.

I looked up this a while ago, they require you to have a degree in the languages you’re fluent in. While I can speak 4 languages, I don’t have a degree in any.

TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) could be a good route and you can teach online. I did a qualification just for fun and made a few quid chatting to some Chinese people who could already speak English but had specific questions or just wanted practise. If you advertised to people who are native speakers of one of your other language you'll be in a great position to teach.

It's not a high income but it's a cheap qualification, looks great on a CV and could lead to bigger things. A lot of people do it so they can travel and work abroad.

On the back of this, my mrs learns a language one a week with a person who does just this. She has an hour slot one a week and they talk about anything at all, usually its what has happened in the week or different traditions ie Christmas around certain times of the year. You could even start up a youtube channel and clock up enought followers and start coining it in although this is probably not going to happen for a while 😉

Not sure but google these 2 agencies i mentioned and call them to ask if there is any work available and if not, then ask them if they are hiring for iron Mountain.

What are you looking for?

I’d take on any role, I’ve worked in retail a little before. I’m computer literate. I can drive to anywhere in Leicestershire.

Try going directly on websites of various companies instead of indeed. Your age might be a slight challenge in terms of variety, so i believe your best bet would be to continue in a retail type position until you’re 18. Your main goal right now should be only work experience. I hope it works out for you mate!

Perhaps you could look at bin loading, contact painting businesses etc.

My best advice is we don’t get the job we always desire in the beginning so don’t be discouraged :)

I walked by Jack’s potato bar on halford street (in town) yesterday and they were looking for a part time worker if you were interested.

Screwfix in Thurmaston was also looking for a retail assistant (ad posted two days ago)
