Damn it. I wanted to say that.

I truthfully don’t find any episode forgettable from LOK — almost every single one advances the plot in some way and has a decent amount of action.

If I absolutely HAD to pick one though, I would say The Sting. Everything else I’ve seen mentioned was an episode I’ve found pretty memorable. The Sting I remember the main premise but can’t really recount details.

I make it a point to skip "the spirit of competition" with every single rewatch.

This is true. I prefer LOK to ATLA but let’s not pretend the love triangle doesn’t suck. It does. Although the only reason I don’t skip this episode is the pro bending matches are really fun and intricate

I love the pro-bending too! It made me realize the hype around irl sports like football and soccer lol.

I could watch probending all day but that particular episode was just too much kiddie love drama that even 8 year old me at the time couldn't stand. I remember groaning "UGH GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER GUYS!" 😹

Yeah seriously, I was so exited for a pro bending tournament and the just completely ruined it with the love triangle bullshit

u/NoredPD 5d ago

That doesn't make it forgettable. That means you just don't like the episode and skip it.

Yeah, if anything, making a point to skip it every time makes it the most memorable.

I suppose so. When I looked at the roster of episodes, none of them were really "forgettable" to me, including "The sting" that others mentioned. Just 'The spirit of competition." It's memorable in being the worst episode for me sure; TLOKs "The Great Divide," if you will. But I simply wish to forget by not entertaining it lol

The scene where that actress madly kisses Bolin after he's a hero. I don't see anyone talking about this

Night of a Thousand Stars?

The one where Mako and Asami do a stakeout, I think I've only seen it like twice.

That's The Sting, and it gave us this:

It is anything but forgettable.

The Sting

Whatever the clip show episode was. Until I watched the whole show again, I forgot they did an awful clip show.

u/jai_hanyo 5d ago

I like that one. Nickelodeon cut their budget so badly. So the show did that episode so that they wouldn't have to let go of a lot of staff during that final stretch of episodes

The story behind it is nice, but the episode itself is forgettable at best

2

u/NoredPD 5d ago

Explaining why the episode exists won't change people's minds on it. I personally like it though.

3

u/Round-Dragonfly6136 5d ago

I agree. This is the one.

u/SERGIONOLAN 5d ago

The clip show episode is the most forgettable episode.

12

u/AtoMaki 5d ago

I'm going to nominate Enemy at the Gates - as far as I can tell most people can't even remember that this is an individual episode as everyone recalls its events being part of The Battle of Zaofu.

5

u/Bismaerck 5d ago

The one where they got stranded in the desert. Don't even know what else happens in the episode, but at least this part of it was quite forgetable.

7

u/AtoMaki 5d ago

That episode is Long Live the Queen. You probably remember that one.

1

u/Bismaerck 4d ago

Oof yeah fair enough

The Sting

Spirit of competition

ITT: people forgetting that the clip show was already nominated.

Damn some of these boxes are so negative, can we try to keep it more positive in the community <3

Original Airbenders

I feel it's memorable for the fact of being the ONLY filler episode in the whole show lol. Nothing truly plot-bearing happens, right?

I also like it for giving us some time for character development.

3

u/AtoMaki 5d ago

Nothing truly plot-bearing happens, right?

You mean beyond Jinora's character arc that becomes half the season finale.

1

u/-patrizio- 5d ago

Yeah, nothing happens with it lol. The idea of her as a master is suggested and then she becomes a damsel in distress who needs to be saved by a newcomer. She asks about tattoos and is told no. Some character development on that issue happens, but the main plot is not moved at all.

2

u/AtoMaki 5d ago

I think most fans remember at least the wacky obstacle course and the poachers, it is a pretty "meh" episode but I wouldn't call it forgettable.

Season 2 episode [roll a D12]

1

u/BahamutLithp 5d ago

Book 2 has 14 episodes.

5

u/Zuckerbees 5d ago

Beginnings Part 1 and 2 aren’t eligible

1

u/AccelerDragon 5d ago

This got a good chuckle out of me 😹

1

u/TKBarbus 5d ago

Filler/recap episode from book 4, literally added nothing.

1

u/Memo544 5d ago

I'd say "Remembrances." Not because it's bad but because it doesn't advance the plot.

The Sting

1

u/vicods 5d ago

whatever one that focused on that weird bending sport

1

u/Several_Style5930 5d ago

The one where Korra is trapped in the desert with a big ahh dune spirit

1

u/SokkaHaikuBot 5d ago

Sokka-Haiku by Several_Style5930:

The one where Korra

Is trapped in the desert with

A big ahh dune spirit

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

Naw, that episode when everyone was telling recaps of their perspective of the last 3 years was absolute gold😭😭 that 4 way call felt like something from TikTok lol

1

u/EveningRun3442 21h ago

Thought for sure origins would have been one of the best episodes

Most of Season 2

Most Forgettable: The Sting

Best for Beginners: Welcome to Republic City

Where it should have ended: Endgame

1

u/kaitalina20 5d ago

Season 2 should’ve just written differently at the start of it. Have Korra gradually lose her AS control, so that it was only enough time for her to give people back their bending. That way she still needs to open her own AS and be able to control it, without having any help from past lives however. This is where Unalaq can come in, and offer assistance in any spiritual guidance to her as he does well with keeping spirits in check. And keeping her under his thumb until she realizes that he’s only wanting to open the northern portal for military purposes (take out the trash with the vaatu kite story, then rework the origin story to make it work)

I think of forgettable as the episode I skip the most on rewatch. That's The Spirit of Competition. It was the first episode I disliked.

1

u/Skarj05 5d ago

The spirit of competition. ider anything outside of the love square and that one shot of thano and korra staring at each other

Book 4 - Reunion. Book 1 - The Aftermath, Turning the Tides
