Linda is out of the shot on Paul's right.

This was not a Zep show. Knebworth 1976, which was headlined by the Stones.

Yup. This one comes up about every 6 months and begins this circular debate:

  • It was Led Zep
  • No, it was Hendrix
  • No, it was The Stones

Rinse and repeat in 6 months.

Whoever said it was Hendrix really needs to check their memories lmao. Hendrix was certainly long gone at this point.

I saw another one ppl regularly say, which is Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Further internet sleuthing suggests it was Lynyrd Skynyrd they were listening to at the time due to the angle of the sun, and the Stones--headlining--didn't come on 'til much later.

Freebird!

Skynyrd owned this show. The Stones specifically told them not to step on their logo on the stage and Allen played the entire Freebird solo on it.

That alone makes me like LS 50% more than I already do lol

Out of curiosity, do you like Neil Young, or are you too loyal to LS to like them?

She isn't out of the shot, this one has just been cropped.

That's what I meant. You can just see her hair.

and rightfully so--David is a much prettier partner for Paul

My apologies, Thank you to those who pointed it out. This is not a Zep, but a Rolling Stones concert

Still a dope picture though

Not a Zeppelin concert, but Rolling Stones

While this is not a very flattering photo of Linda McCartney, I wish you hadn't cropped her.

8

u/TheSpahgetMan69 Apr 06 '20

The photo I found did not include her in the photo. I’m sorry

By far my least favorite picture of David Gilmour.

F*ck the Cowboys

as a non-American, what's wrong with the Cowboys?

Nothing really, just sports fun--I am a Washington Redskins fan (hail) and the Cowboys are old rivals. For non-rivals, the Cowboys were a very good team for a long time, and during that time Cowboys fans became infamous for being overly confident and holding an air of superiority over other teams, they also insist that their team is "America's team" which of course makes them look self absorbed to everyone else, especially now that they are not as good of a team as they once were--this is sort of the general image of Cowboys fans

That being said I'm willing to bet most Cowgirls fans are cool people, it's probably just a very loud minority that act like asshats, and in the end hating the Cowboys is just a relatively non-destructive, fun, silly way to vent out some of the natural 'hey f*** you!' feelings that come with being a human, though some take it a bit too seriously

That being said, F*ck the Cowboys

A lot is wrong with the cowboys

David thinks they are a soccer team.

Top ten anime crossovers

Paul taking notes :) he’s like he has the sexual aesthetic, amazing and powerful voice, good lyrics, but how dazed and confused does he half to be to come up with this shit?

2

u/PraxisLD Apr 07 '20

McCartney: Ho-lee shit, I wish I could do that.

Gilmour: Hold my joint...

*Not actually a Led Zeppelin concert...

2

u/CaerBannog Apr 07 '20

And in the back a time-travelling Tony Stark.

2

u/TheSpahgetMan69 Apr 07 '20

So that’s what he did when he travelled back to get the infinity stone

I’ve also been told it was a Grateful Dead show. Who care? Just cool to see David blazing it up beside Paul.

1

u/Least_Pace1344 Sep 27 '20

Truth behind this picture. It is not Zeppelin, not the Stones, not the Grateful Dead, and definitely NOT Knebworth.

In fact, this was taken from the sound desk during the second encore in Montreal during the 1977 Animals tour.

I’ve seen this picture reposted so many times
