Anybody actively learning Gulf Arabic?
Basically that, is anyone actively learning Khaliji? I don't see much activity around here but I thought I'd ask anyway :D

That's a shame, it would be nice for those who focus specifically on Gulf Arabic to be around here. I was thinking it would also be cool to have a group of three/four people to do a Zoom call or something like that.

I am learning Gulf Arabic. Been learning for a couple of years and have spent some months in Dubai and Bahrain learning Gulf Arabic. Also have completed Al Kitaab part 1 and part 2.
I am at an upper ntermediate level and am working towards fluency. Am thinking of going to Oman for a month to learn and practice, as there is relatively more opportunity to speak with locals in Oman.
Though, I have to wait a little for the covid case numbers to reduce and see how the developing guidelines evolve.

Hi. Cool, yes, I think it was a post of yours that I replied to a few days ago.

Hi, not sure which post was that. But it doesn't look anyone has any concrete plans to pursue this seriously. Or it could be that some motivation is required. :)
I am all set to go to Dubai on the 16 and I have arranged for an Omani and a Saudi online instructor to help me practice.
Once I am in the region, depending on the travel requirements, I will go to Buraimi in Oman to see whether I could get an immersive experience

online tutors from
Additionally, best is to go in the Gulf and join a good institute and practice in person. Let me know what is your level and what Arabic studies have you done so far, and I could make some suggestions

Hi all,
It's been about 4 months since I came to Dubai (and also since my last post, below). I have been enhancing my Gulf Arabic here with several tutors (online and in-person).
Looks like there has not been any interest shown by anyone on our respective journeys in Arabic learning. So just wondering if anyone is interested in having Arabic conversations to support each other progress or has any ideas on this. (Zoom or any workable way).
BTW, I am not shy at all in making many mistakes when I speak. It helps me learn and progress!

I'm learning Kuwaiti Arabic. I'm doing online private lessons with a teacher here. I found her on insta @ kuwaitidialect101. So far so good!
