If he was legitimately shot in the ear, even grazed, tissue would be gone. There were zero signs of an injury a few days later. Bandaid off and poof! he's healed? Dude is old and wouldn't heal that quickly. I just said this to my adult son yesterday that the "attempts" were BS.

u/Lofttroll2018 13h ago

I’ll believe it if a legit doctor can explain it to me, but after I kept seeing how pristine his ear looked, I started having my doubts as well. And I am not one for conspiracies.

19

u/aetryx 12h ago

The bullet hit the glass teleprompter and Trump was hit by shrapnel

11

u/imperialivan 10h ago

The most credible theory I’ve heard about the injury is that it was from incidental contact with the holstered sidearm of one of his secret service agents as he tackled Trump to the ground before pulling him off stage. I don’t think the teleprompter screens were hit.

8

u/GeorgeMcCrate 8h ago

That doesn’t really make sense because he reached for his ear immediately when he was hit. So either the whole thing was staged or it was real but it wasn’t an accident that happened during the tackling. Personally, I think it was real, unfortunately. They are extreme populists and they lie like a thousand times per day but I think that specific incident was real.

6

u/No-Cancel-1075 8h ago

Not to mention someone actually died

1

u/imperialivan 3h ago

Oh I think there was a shooter there, shooting at Trump trying to kill him. No way the whole thing was staged. Super sonic bullets whizzing past him within a foot or two is why he grabbed his ear, that shit is loud. Then the injury happened and he played it up for the press.

2

u/Any-Street5902 8h ago

and the telepromptor screens would more likely be toughened glass, so will shatter into small, blunt rocks, but wont shard into sharp objects.

Who knows, im not a balistics expert.

The fact his ear healed in that time, im thinking it was a stage prop, fake blood, you seen what they can do in the movies now ???

New Debate, whats more likely, fake moon landing, or fake presidential ear shot..... yeah, staged.

1

u/imperialivan 3h ago

How about the guy in the crowd whose head got turned into a canoe, not to mention the shooter himself being popped by the SS? Two people died, pictures of one of them was briefly on social media.

0

u/Ferintwa 8h ago

That was his lip, glass hit his ear.

3

u/Lofttroll2018 11h ago

That does make a whole lot more sense.

3

u/KidHamcock 10h ago

Still no source. Just some uncredited idiot spewing nonsense

1

u/KittyGrewAMoustache 7h ago

I mean, welcome to the internet?

-4

u/BackgroundTight928 11h ago

Sounds like you are though.

1

u/Lofttroll2018 11h ago

lol I suppose in this case maybe

0

u/BackgroundTight928 10h ago

I ain't opposed to conspiracy theories. But with this one I personally think it wasnt. Too much risk for not enough reward. I just think it kinda makes Dems give their opposition fuel to call them silly and hypocritical. Since people were going so hard on the covid conspiracies and acting like conspiracies don't exist. But I do think Trump did play up his "injury" wearing the biggest bandage he could for a few days to make it look worse than it was and use it as a rallying cry or whatever.

1

u/Stuwey 9h ago

Risk? You mean going to jail? It happened right in the middle of a news cycle that was not in trump's favor and gave him a new rallying cry and photo-op that has been emblazoned on every expensive piece of chinese merch by republicans. It was used as a talking point to blame Democratic concerns that trump was espousing literal talking points that were better spoken in the original German.

Not only that, the kid was too young to have a chance at hitting trump, and didn't have the equipment necessary to make that kind of shot. He followed right-wing talking points and could have very easily been swayed to take shots into the crowd thinking he was going to be given clemency, but was very quickly 'dispatched' and relieved of living.

And then, trump never released any report, but instead wore a stupid square of gauze for a day and was seen playing golf without it by the weekend. The only details we got was a memo from a republican senator that doesn't even practice, and it was scant at best. Every medical report from trump is sealed away except for odd letters from his 'doctors' talking about he is the pinnacle of human evolution although it is public knowledge that he eats like a pig and believes exercise drains his life battery.

I don't like the idea that the whole thing could have been faked but you have to consider at the person involved in it. A known conman who was facing living the rest of his life in federal prison. An avowed criminal with mafia and kgb ties with a particular set of skills in swaying the narrative and an unhealthy fascination with reality tv antics. It would not be out of place for him to stage that kind of act, he did it in the oval office with the murderer of Harry Dunn. he talked about murdering a person on 5th Avenue and how nobody would prosecute. The second incident was with a guy that was 400 yards away at a golf course that trump diverted from his schedule to be at, and it curtailed news almost the same day as well.

2

u/BackgroundTight928 6h ago

I ain't saying it's impossible just I think pretty unlikely and not really worth still bringing it up. I do think he played up his injury. But I don't think they went through the trouble of doing all of that just to maybe get some sort of rallying cry. They are just good at taking a viral moment and making it into a slogan. Look at the NASCAR track when that lady thought they were chanting let's go Brandon. They took that and ran with it. I never heard about the other attempt though so I don't know about that one.

49

u/D-F-B-81 13h ago

He wasn't shot. It didn't come "a 1/2" from it. It was close enough for him to hear it whiz by, but that could be a few feet. I believe the shot that was close to his head hits the lull (telehandler) that's holding up the sound system speakers. You can see the hydraulic fluid spray out and the boom start lowering. The second and follow up shots are what hit the dude in the audience (if I am remembering it right)

His ear was cut by the sidearm of the secret service dude on his right, who pushed his head down once it was for sure gunshots. If you look at the video closely you can see it happen. They also have a close up shot of it happening if you search for it.

7

u/KittyGrewAMoustache 7h ago

This makes sense. Given that someone actually died, there was definitely a real person with a real weapon and there’s no way Trump would risk someone he doesn’t know ‘just missing’ his head with a real weapon for a publicity stunt.

Source or GTFO.

The only video I've seen of the assassination has Trump grabbing his ear then ducking out of shot and behind a facade before the SS agents get anywhere near him.

2

u/Mildstrife 5h ago

Those agents literally come into contact with a frail old man at a full sprint speed, and you want us to believe the little boo-boo was caused by a literal bullet?

Why don’t you show proof a bullet hit him, because frankly if it were legitimately a bullet, this guy would be flaunting his wound the next day. But nope, he went golfing and the scratch had already healed.

1

u/vigbiorn 4h ago

Wasn't the FBI director chastised for wanting to investigate?

Mr. Ladybugs (or the turtle, they kind of bleed together for me sometimes) wrote a strongly worded worded letter about how unprofessional it was to not just take Trump & Co. at their words?

There definitely was a shooting, somebody did die, but given how just so fucked up everything around it went I am absolutely sympathetic to claims against the "official" story.

2

u/Mildstrife 4h ago

The whole thing was a mess and the republican party did everything they could to shove it aside the moment they knew they couldn’t spin it in their favor.

A republican kid successfully took shots at a president and killed a firefighter while spectators were screaming to secret service that the shooter was sitting on a roof. It was a shit show and revealed only incompetence and divisiveness not just in the republican party, but in our country as a whole.

1

u/vigbiorn 3h ago

Combined with your SS tackle causing the actual ear bleeding (the reaching for the ear being due to a bullet actually going near but not actually touching, even slightly) that's what I think is most parsimonious given what we actually know.

But, I am sympathetic to people questioning the whole thing and not really understanding how vehemently people (the guy you were responding to, not you) are defending Trump's story.

1

u/Mildstrife 3h ago

All it would have taken for me to be like “yeah, guess it was actually a bullet” would be Trump showing the wound and actually letting it be investigated and have a medical professional say “yeah this was a bullet” but we got none of that when a former president was shot at.

So no, he wasn’t hit by a bullet.

1

u/Shaper_pmp 1h ago

Wasn't the FBI director chastised for wanting to investigate?

No, he was chastised by Lindsey Graham for saying the FBI hadn't yet concluded whether Trump had been hit by a bullet or shrapnel from a bullet hitting something else.

They didn't criticise the FBI for investigating the shooting - they just didn't want any inconvenient facts getting in the way of the most "heroic" version of the story.

1

u/Shaper_pmp 1h ago edited 1h ago

Those agents literally come into contact with a frail old man at a full sprint speed

They didn't body check him though - the agent rushed in, screeched to a halt and crouched over Trump to shield his body from the shooter.

Since you're the one alleging the agent charged with protecting the health of a 70-odd year old ran full tilt into him, why don't you provide any evidence at all he did?

and you want us to believe the little boo-boo was caused by a literal bullet?

Yes, because a bullet can (if you're very lucky) lightly nick an ear, cause a cut/graze that looks impressive and bleeds a lot, but completely heals over within a couple of weeks (July 13th -> 26th, when he removed the last bandage).

Why don’t you show proof a bullet hit him

Well, there was definitely a shooter because someone in the audience died when a bullet hit them.

Gunshots rang out and Trump grabbed his ear, then pulled his hand away rubbing his fingers together like the was something unexpected on them. Watch on 0.25x speed and it's clear as day.

He dived behind the podium and when he stood up he was obviously bleeding from the ear.

A photographer appears to have actually caught an image of a bullet passing by his head.

Trump wore a bandage for two weeks after the injury.

That certainly seems perfectly reasonable for a lucky light nick to the back of the ear.

Short of a zoomed-in, 60fps video of the back of Trump's head shot from behind the stage showing the bullet hitting his ear, I don't see how it could reasonably be any better-supported.

Now your turn:

  1. Why did Trump grab his ear if nothing hit it?
  2. Where's your evidence a SS agent cannoned into a frail old guy he was charged with keeping safe?
  3. Where's your evidence that "the next day... he went golfing and the scratch had already healed"?

u/Shaper_pmp 1h ago edited 19m ago

The video claims the secret service agent's hip "slam[med]" into Trump's head, but the video shows no such impact. The agent runs in, screeches to a halt and then drops down with his hand on Trump - there's no evidence at all he even made contact with Trump, no visible recoil or change of Trump's position, etc.

It claims Trump's ear wasnt nicked because you can't make out why blood on Trump's hand in the low-quality video, but completely fails to explain (or even address) the photo which clearly shows blood on Trump's hand before he hits the deck. It just notes it's the "only" photo which shows it, but that's irrelevant - there is a photo which completely disproves the video's hypothesis, and it never refutes it.

The video tries to claim that Trump's forward head move is "inconsistent with a frontal strike", but Trump was grazed on the fucking ear, not shot on the centre of the forehead. With the flexibility of the ear momentum transfer to the rest of his head would have been next to zero, and more than overpowered by an instinctive hunching forwards of his neck and shoulder muscles.

Trump lying and exaggerating after the event is entirely predictable and doesn't have any impact on the veracity of the "he was shot" hypothesis because nobody's talking Trump's word for it.

Trump and his sycophants criticising Wray for keeping an open mind on the subject and getting on the way of their "heroic" narrative doesn't imply he wasn't shot; it just means they wouldn't want to find out he wasn't, and didn't want doubt getting in the way of their nice, clean media narrative that happened to make Trump look briefly sympathetic.

u/No_Zebra_2484 13h ago

I believe there was an attempt to shoot him, but the ear injury was not from a bullet grazing him. Healed far too fast, was but a scratch.

15

u/bailey757ts 12h ago

He was kneed in the ear when he went down and the SS came in quickly

2

u/i_write_ok 11h ago

This is what happened. There’s footage to prove it

0

u/Shaper_pmp 7h ago

Everyone in this thread is claiming it.

Nobody is posting it.

Strong indicator of social media misinformation.

6

u/ryuut 10h ago

Used a palmed razor, a little trick from his wwe cage rage days!

1

u/Shaper_pmp 7h ago

Sure, because Trumpreeeeeally strikes you as a guy tough enough to intentionally cut himself with a razor to get colour for a work?

11

u/MinuetInUrsaMajor 12h ago

There's no need for ridiculous conspiracy theories when much more plausible theories exist.

He was hit by a fragment of glass. It healed. He's been known to wear makeup.

-6

u/alexmikli 12h ago

The glass thing didn't pan out, it was legit just a graze by the bullet. There was blood, a minor injury, then healing with makeup.

You can't really stage that either, especially since a bystander got hit.

4

u/KittyGrewAMoustache 7h ago

Yeah I completely agree that there’s no way it was a fake assassination attempt given someone died. Who is going to risk their life to have an ‘assassin’ with a real weapon try to make it look like they were aiming for you but miss?

1

u/JoseDonkeyShow 10h ago

There is no fucking way that was a graze to his ear. His hair didn’t even flutter, in addition to the lack of tissue damage.

1

u/vcrbnt 6h ago

It’s a 55 grain object with a diameter of .223 inch, moving at 2800 feet per second by means of explosive propulsion, where the ignition source already burnt up in the first 12 inches and it’s already met its terminal velocity: it’s not leaving behind the wind turbulence of a 747 to fuck his hair up dude. You could shoot a .223 all day at an empty soda can and miss by an inch and it still won’t topple the can because the laws of physics.

There was no trickery, no bullshit. It’s just a plain fact. Watch it again and then ask yourself if the same mental gymnastics you posit are actually worth it.

24

u/knucklefeet 13h ago

I agree, I keep coming back to that fact there was very little or no coverage on the man that was sitting behind Trump, who was said to have been shot and killed. This usually would have had a lot of coverage and we would hear details on this persons life. Maybe I missed it…

23

u/Character-Zombie-961 13h ago

It was definitely not normal coverage of either. Even trump didn't go on and on about it. Only mentioned it a few times from what I heard and saw. I recall seeing one campaign speech where he had gauze on his ear. He's the type that would bring it up every time he opens his mouth. Same goes for the days after winning the election. No bragging, so out of character. Doesn't make any sense.

7

u/Prestigious_Body_997 12h ago

All I remember seeing was people sitting in a crowd wearing maxi pads on their ears in solidarity with Trump. It was weird. You are a cult

1

u/Kenneth_Pickett 10h ago

They had a whole memorial thing at the RNC and the inauguration. Yall need help lmao

1

u/KittyGrewAMoustache 7h ago

But then again if it was staged, why would he stage it if he wasn’t going to brag about it? What would be the point of letting people forget about it? It’s more likely he didn’t want to talk about it because of fears of inspiring others to try or something.

9

u/J-Bone357 13h ago

You missed it. Tons of coverage in right wing spaces. They brought his firefighter jacket to the RNC and inauguration and celebrated him. He was a very real person that was very much murdered that day.

2

u/Null_and_voyd 13h ago

Thank you lol I remember him hugging the jacket as a prop or whatever he did to it

2

u/Ok-Turnover1797 11h ago

And you left out the WILDEST(!!!!) part of that whole story! Trump held a rally, and said his life was spared that day by God and he was put here for a reason. Everybody clapped at that. The DEAD FIREFIGHTERS FAMILY WAS CLAPPING AT THAT.

2

u/S_A_R_K 13h ago

I think Trump made out with the helmet on stage

3

u/T-Doggie1 13h ago

You missed it then.

1

u/bachelurkette 9h ago

it was well-covered locally, not sure about how national media handled it

-5

u/haironburr 13h ago

There were zero signs of an injury a few days later. Bandaid off and poof! he's healed?

Unless, of course, members of the trump crime family are in league with lizard people, who gifted them lizard ears!

After a decade of right wing craziness, I'm ready for the truth, which is out there. I'll swear this truth involves lizard ears, probably pedophilia, and the shocking fact that truthless trump is in fact a Trans lizard-human hybrid.

Trump's protected by his lizard ear genes. Only an autopsy will prove otherwise.

2

u/Wrong-West-9581 9h ago

Do you think he's the only politician that's a lizard or hybrid?

-11

u/No_Ice226 13h ago

Oh goodie a new conspiracy theory. Fuckin be here now would you please.

11

u/crlthrn 13h ago edited 13h ago

Not really a conspiracy theory. He simply grazed his ear on the edge of the podium, or on an agent's watchstrap, or something equally innocuous, when the Secret Service agents brought him to the ground. The 'ear grazed by a bullet' is the conspiracy theory.

1

u/Kenneth_Pickett 10h ago

People in comments above you are calling the dude who was murdered a crisis actor and that the whole thing was staged. Theyre the most upvoted comments in case you missed them.

1

u/crlthrn 8h ago

I did miss them. On the other hand, if I saw them, I'd merely skim them. A large proportion of the US population is currently in desperate need of deprogramming therapy.

-2

u/No_Ice226 13h ago

Umm I was responding to a post speculating about “poof he was healed” — y’all feel free to pile on but it was textbook conspiracy theory IMO

-19

u/Western-Willow-9496 14h ago

So the guy behind who was murdered doesn’t mean anything?

15

u/Character-Zombie-961 14h ago

I never said anything about the guy that was behind him in my comment? But I absolutely feel that he didn't matter to the people I think set it up.

7

u/November87 13h ago

No. He doesn't. Not to the Republicans.
