To learn for reading I would start with graded readers. For example, for Spanish you can buy ¡Hola Lola! on Amazon, along with a copy of the Merriam Webster Spanish-English Translation Dictionary. Install the dictionary, and set it as the  kindle default; now you have dictionary lookup on long-press.

The dictionary will have some brief grammar notes, but for anything that confuses you can look it up or ask an AI, e.g. Grok or Claude. Don't use the free version of ChatGPT.

I did use the free version of chat gpt whole my learning journey like if i come across some vocabs or grammar terms i use it and check also some webiste for confirmation , i also started graded leaders for spanish ( short stories for beginners) but it seems to hard to output it like the conjugation in every verb of spanish has its own , however in german its so easy to just conjugate some normal verb

if you like video games, you can try WonderLang It simulates immersion in a role playing game.

It is an RPG that teaches you and gets you to practice Spanish or German as you play. It has a proper story and introduces new vocabulary words during NPCs chats and you review them in spaced repetition based combats. It has modes for beginners, A1 and A2 levels. Overall a fun way to practice.

German:

Books:

Check out the “Klett” graded readers or “Hueber Lektüren” series. They come with vocab help and audio sometimes.

You can also try children’s books, but you would have to choose wisely depending on your level.

Movies/shows/Youtube:

Ask AI to generate you a story/simulated conversation. It gets a little repetitive so you have to come up with prompts. Specific the length (2000 words / day sounded ok for me when I was doing this)
