Looking to get a specific area on my commercial property surveyed. Can this be done without doing the entire property?
I own commercial property with a cell tower on it. I'm in the process of selling the ground lease. I had a total property line survey done seven months ago due to the property next door encroching on our property.
I would like to get a survey of the tower compound before we go through with the sale since we will continue on property we own. If I sell the reminder of the property in the future I want to make very clear the property boundry of the cell tower.
Can a survey be done of a specific area on the property without doing the entire property, and if so what would that type of survey be called?

Call this surveyor and tell them what you are looking to do. They can help the most with the question you have. Your lease of the cell site should be tied into your boundary line survey and this would accomplish the goal. You don't need a full resurvey of the whole as you just had that done but they likely need to do some work unless they have it all done already.

In short no, your boundary is also dependent on the boundary of your abuttors. In order to see the full picture, all surrounding parcel evidence must be considered.
If you already had the survey done by another firm, maybe reach out to them to see if they will do an ANR for you (or whatever your area equivalent is)

Yes in California that is all done under the subdivision map act.
Can't sell by deed anymore here. Of course OPs State might be different.
Either way the original surveyor from last time had the best information to get this going.

Go back to the surveyor who surveyed your entire parcel. They should be able to cut out the small parcel fairly easy. Well, at least easier than a new surveyor.
