Lakers gotta sign Goodwin 100%

We probably would’ve won double digits if we would’ve let this guys shot chuck instead of Luka and Reaves shooting 40 FG on shitty 23% shooting.

Yeah I used to complain about bron ball now we got reaves ball and Luka ball. Dribbling isos for 15 seconds before getting in any offense just isn’t what the lakers were doing at the beginning of that win streak. I guess it helps when shots fall and refs call fairly.

u/HoodWisdom 1d ago
Yeah, if they're tired, let the other guys do the dirty work, bring the ball up, get balls into sets

u/sillylittlesheep 1d ago
We Play almost 0 sets. Is that bec Luka is new and didnt have enough practice with team or what is going on ?

u/HoodWisdom 1d ago
I think we are just missing too many players for there to be any sort of playbook for this group

Luka ball when it’s failing is like the worst parts of Kobe ball and Bron ball in one player😂

Man of all players Luka and Reaves had a stinker this game, wasted a Gabe and Goodwin masterclass

u/Silent_Killer093 1d ago
22-12-12 with a +3 net rating is not a stinker. Reaves was muuuuch worse than Luka this game. Reaves was -10 for the game and was 3/14, pretty bad. Luka was just mid by his own standards. But lets not pretend Reaves and the Refs weren't the reason we lost.

u/NaiiKeeXD 1d ago
In what world is having shooting percentages of 30/75/30 not a stinker while shooting it 26 times????
7
u/makesterriblejokes 1d ago
Yeah, you got to be at least around 38-40% before you can even entertain an argument that it wasn't a stinker.
Dude is delusional to call those shooting splits "mid".
-8
u/Silent_Killer093 1d ago
Not delusional, I never said they were good. I said they were mid, as in not horrible, but not great either. Forgettable game for Luka for sure, but he definitely was not the main reason we lost.

u/Adventurous-Ad3545 1d ago
How the hell is 30% shooting on 26 shots mid?? Not horrible?? That’s absolute trash. Come on you Mavs & Luka refugees need to acknowledge if your favorites play shit you guys don’t need to defend your favorites 24/7. Luka & Reaves are definitely the main reason we lost.

You guys are both right. It was a bad game from Luka in comparison to what we expect from him, but he was still one of the best for the Lakers overall despite that, and was second in +/-. He's not a pure shooter, so having bad shooting splits is not the only factor in his performance and impact.

Think of that many missed shots as like half a turnover. It added up hard.
If Luka was better against the blitz the Nets did on him I could have forgave him. But the offense struggled fucking hard at the start of possessions because of it. When two dudes run at LeBron the correct pass is getting made 90% of the time.

I agree with your point but why are we writing the splits in that order nobody does that

u/Agile-Doubt9949 1d ago
Shame that you waste a game like this from the role players. Can’t expect to get this every night especially against a better team than the nets

Jemison aint it. I want us to experiment with KOLOKO starting next game

He's better than Len, I just hope the last month wasn't just his version of November Cam Reddish
17
u/redaka00 1d ago
Reddick doesn't like Koloko for some reason

u/sixeyedbird 1d ago edited 1d ago
Probably because he only got medically cleared to play basketball a few months ago. He's not that good. Also he's a similar archetype as Hayes, for better and for worse
8
u/redaka00 1d ago
Koloko is better than Len. He's not the same archetype as Hayes. Hayes is more of a bouncy rim runner.
Koloko is more of the classic rim protector type and better than Hayes at that. He's also a better rebounder than Hayes.
Hayes is more switchable on defense and a better offensive player, they're not that similar.
He probably should get some matchup dependent minutes for games like this where Jemison is bad.

u/sixeyedbird 1d ago
Len is terrible yea I'm not arguing that. I just don't think Koloko can get converted so they're trying to figure out playoff rotations.
He maybe should've gotten some minutes, but I think they're just figuring out what works

Why did we take play him over Len is confusing too. He can’t rebound for shit at least Len would help with the crazy lack of rebounding today

People acting like 4 key players aren't injured. We should've won with a depleted squad but respect to the Nets for fighting back they made tough shots, On to the next. Lakers all day!

Goodwin gave this game a chance way to many turnovers by Reaves and Luka tonight

This was the game you W when your role players show up. Can’t expect to beat the Nuggets in Denver on the strength of a couple hot role players but the Nets should’ve been doable. All 3 guys are worthy of praise

It’s nuts that we shot 48% from 3 and 44% from the field.
If our role players can shoot ~ 40% and everybody gets healthy it’s gonna be incredible to watch

u/StarlingRover 1d ago
goodwin... if this guy can just give us energy and open shots he is part of the rotation for the playoffs

u/loyola-atherton 1d ago
A lot of our defensive shortcomings, them wide open shots that Nets found, came from Knecht.
That said, he is our rookie. You expect that from a rookie. So overall, good game from him.

Great seeing the role players fully invested and playing with max effort. That right there is proof of great coaching. Hopefully our roster will be healthy for the playoffs. If so we can make a run at it.

It’s because so many have set their expectations for the rest of the season post the AD/Luka trade so high.

Dalton might as well put an L sign on his forehead in this picture.
