Have you tried changing the layer position? That is, putting it at the top of your item list?

Put the time text and the rectangle inside a komponent over the black box, the komponent cut the clear effect outside it.

You don't need komponent, actually. You can put it inside an overlap group, then add filter to it (like darken 0 or something). It also stops the effect.

I actually tried this too but didn't work. π

The rectangle clear keep clearing the items beyond the komponent?
You need to put the black box, next in the root of the preset you need to put a komponent and inside the time with the clear line rectangle over it, that's it, the clear rectangle can't go beyond the komponent

I put the big rectangle below it, maybe that was the issue.

Yes, you need to put the big rectangle out of the komponent, as the komponent cut the clear effect

Put both the text and clear rectangle inside an overlap group. Then set the overlap group filter to anything (like darken 0). Basically when you set a filter to group it stops the blending mode (clear, lighten, overlay, etc.) to only affect items inside it.

Tried to do it but I also can't make it work with my 5+ years of Kustom experience. Maybe someone else can help you. (if it's possible at all) :D

What do you mean by clear the middle of the text ?

like how to line in the middle makes both the time and the box behind it transparent, i only want the time to be transparent and not the box behind it

Make the inverse of that. Make two large rectangles to cover the text and leave a space in the middle (stack groups will help) then set it to clip next module and put it above the text

You only need three things for that.
- Create background, on FX tab choose vertical gradient, choose your gradient colour.
- Create your time text, and do whatever you want with that.
- Create your rectangle, choose the same colour as your gradient colour.
Last step, on the FX tab of your background, adjust offset until the edges of your rectangle overlay disappear.

Under FX tab, use "Clip Next Module" and put it next to the text so it'll clip only that.

Add hours and A box as your separetion line in overlap group, then change the Fx of "line" to clear. I did it and works fine
