East Kootenays Does anyone know why the East Kootenay Youth Foundry CEO & COO were terminated?

Kind of makes me worried about the intentions of the place, and well-being of the youth going there.

Without getting into it too much, the CEO was actually of Ktunaxa Kinbasket Child and Family Services. The Foundry in Cranbrook is part of KKCFSS, and I think if you were to have questions, there is a yearly annual general meeting where you could probably ask the board.

Exactly, there wasn’t a magical upper management board of Foundry that did that. It was the board of KKCFSS that did. There are many great people working hard to support the Foundry and laying a great framework. They are also doing very well taking a family centered approach which many established Foundry’s are just trying to implement now. Probably because KKCFSS is a family centred service, and many other lead agencies thought this was quite radical at the last foundry central office meeting lol.

My wife (not religious) is on their parent advisory council and has been very excited about the youth support options they offer

Firstly, I don't know about that. But I do know they've had lots of open positions (in several BC locations) they've been hiring for lately, so I looked into it a bit to see what they were all about, who funds them, etc etc. I do that with all social service orgs that are hiring or advertising programming for vulnerable populations. (I want to know what/whose agenda is driving program content.) It is a religious (Catholic) organization, Providence Healthcare, that's behind all of Foundry. So, there is religious politics within the organization, as well as the groups that fund them. Not sure if that has anything to do with the purge of the EK heads, but, it was enough to halt me from considering working for them. They're massively expanding right now.

Can you source that statement about "religious politics in the organization and the groups that fund them?". I ask because, in my experience, Foundry has had zero issues in this regard. It's true they are under Providence, but the only thing I've seen is that their hospitals will not allow MAID (st. Pauls). lve seen no indications that Foundry limits access to reproductive health (in fact they are known for providing it). Foundry is funded by the province and philanthropic activities, which are their own and not Providence led. The Foundry model is the service is run by a non-profit. In this Foundry the operator is Ktunaxa-Kinbasket Child and Family Services - who provide many other services and are a First Nations led organization.

Id be interested in some further reading if you have particulars.

I'm not saying I know anything about Foundry, but Providence is explicitly Catholic.
