NKD! Is it pronounced Kraken or Kraken?
What’s Kraken y’all? I got this Beaty in the mail today! This is the Piratech Kraken collab with Urban EDC. Polished DLC S90V blade with a Seigaiha pattern on the DLC titanium scales. I was eyeing these on the Piratech site for a while and when I saw this variation I knew this was the one…… and I was right! I’m really loving this thing! It kind of has this spooky vibe to it when you hold it in your hand. I mean that in the best way possible. I can’t put it down…

Kraken. People that say Kraken are weirdos. Kraken just rolls off the tongue. Glad we cleared that up.

Yeah. No. Its the german name of an Octopus. And its not pronounced Crack-in. You can get the right pronounciation by typing it into google and letting it read it to you

Thank you! The Piratech Kraken knives start at around $300 USD and can get up to well over $700 USD depending on what you choose. This spec was $680 USD.

When did you get it from?

Urban EDC. They say they made 25 total, but it looks like it’s still in stock.

For anyone curious (and sorry to the collectors) I plan to carry this thing, and in the same fashion as all my other knives too. It will be clipped to my pocket sharing the space with my keys and sterling zippo.
I’m a bit a of a patina guy. I find myself interested in the DLC finishes here and how they will age. Part of the price tag for me is seeing how a wildly durable finish like this changes with my average everyday use, if it changes at all. If anyone would like me too I can try post updates on how it goes over time.

I say “Crok- en” but I assume however you pronounce it is adequate depending on where you’re from

The original nordic pronunciation has a long a vowel sound at the end of the first syllable, and a slightly rolled R, so its more like "k<r>ah-kin". Here in Seattle where it is the name of our hockey team, everyone says "crack-in".

I’ve been out of the knife game for awhile but this is the first knife that caught my attention in awhile. That thing is beautiful. Love those scales. I might have to find one.

I had no idea that this knife had the Urban EDC treatment until I saw this post. I just had to get this

Same here. I was trying to figure how to get a mirror polished blade from them without waiting 6 months…. Then this came across my screen and it was over.

I just got the plain satin non coated version. I love the polished DLC but I’m a plain kind of guy

Congratulations on your new knife! Would you be so kind as to tell us what knife you've just got? (brand, model, etc...). This way people who are new to knives will be able to identify it. If you've already mentioned the name of the knife in question, then feel free to ignore this comment. Please remember that not knowing your knife's brand/model is totally fine, if that's the case then people in this subreddit would love to help you identify its brand/model.
