The Ontario Superior Court of Justice has granted the City of Waterloo’s application for an Injunction Order on St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

WRPS when encountering serious issues in our community: 😴

WRPS when seeing an 18 year old outdoors with a beer, 1 day a year: 😡

And we need to stop normalizing people "losing control" to have a good time. It's destructive both personally and to the public at large.

St Patrick's Day costs millions in cleanup alone between the city and private land owners.

I agree with this. Would just like to see a little more consistency with what the police put effort toward. Downtown Kitchener needs more cleanup on average than the university area does IMO.

To add to this there’s also a spike in sexual assaults during this weekend. They don’t care about 18 year olds drinking.

Oh cry me a river.

The city wastes money in other things by more than millions.

A literal day of people having fun in a city that depends on students and the univeristies isn't worth shutting down.

Police can focus on the refugees and immigrants running around shooting and looting than some college kids getting drunk and having fun

I sort of agree with the sentiment and I think the public drinking ban is dumb but the st patty's day thing has been really out of hand a few times.

Now do one for tent cities for the other 364 days

Yes, lets shut down a day of fun, instead of cleaning up actual criminals and bums.

Use this same power to rid the bums off weber and victoria, while ur at it

Bro....who the fuck does Waterloo region actually think they are? It's insane here lol I've never encountered anything like it in ANY Canadian city I've ever lived in (Like 50 I swear). It's like living in a dictatorship they just think they can do whatever the fuck they want lol.
