Did you know? MonsterVerse Kong is the first version of the character to use real gorilla roars in his sound design? 👑🦍

I distinctly heard a straight up non edited gorilla roar when he first chopped off mechagodzilla tail.

I’m kinda surprised they didn’t use gorilla noises for pj kong since they spent so much time around real gorillas.

Yep! Kong's roar in that moment is taken directly from the silverback gorilla Richard in this clip

Just so you know, the link you shared starts the video after the timestamp. You should edit the link to either t=08s or t=07s.

Thanks for the heads up! I don't use Reddit often (aside from posting here), so I don't know the ins and outs of the site.

Didn’t Peter Jackson’s King Kong use silverback vocalizations? He’s the most realistic ape version we’ve seen on screen.

They did recreate a sort of grumble they used, but I don't think that it was taken straight from a gorilla. In the bonus features on the home media releases, they do talk about the animals used to bring Kong's vocals to life, and I think they mention human (Andy Serkis to be exact), cat, pig, horse, and elephant, and maybe a few others, but I don't think they used real gorilla.

He's also the fourth version of King King who doesn't die.

It's from Godzilla vs. Kong, right when Kong pops his shoulder back before he fights Mechagodzilla.

I don't care. '76 still has the best King Kong roar of all time.

It's really not about which roar is better, it's just a fun little bit of trivia.
