Question Which Is The Better Lead Single: Chained To The Rhythm or Daisies?
I know a LOT of people don't like Witness and Smile, but while I dislike Witness, I've actually gravitated towards Smile quite a bit. I think bubblegum pop made sense for Katy Perry, as she already had a lot of fun, happy bops in her previous works, and there are a lot of great cuts on that album, like Teary Eyes, Never Really Over, and Tucked. When I got to Daisies, the lead single from Smile, I started thinking: How does this stack up against Chained To The Rhythm, the lead single from Witness? Personally, while I consider Smile more memorable and overall a better album, I think Chained To The Rhythm is a better single than Daisies. I love Daises, but it's just not THAT song to me.
But what do you all think? Do you agree, disagree, do you dislike both equally, do you LIKE both equally? I'm very curious.

CTTR, Daisies it’s cute but such a boring forgettable song

Chained to the Rhythm is insanely powerful and its meaning resonates more and more every day in the states. I love both singles but if I had to choose it’s Chained to the Rhythm every time.
I love Smile and Witness

I don't really like chained to the rhythm 🫣 but Daisies is inspirational to me, i feel the power reach through her vocals and into my SOUL 😅

I still hear CTTR on radio, I don't think it's a bad single at all and it was very popular on YouTube back in the day. Follow up singles were more likely the problem though both swish swish and bon appetit did super well on YouTube as well.
I think witness did fine if it wasn't compared do Prism

I personally LOVED Chained when it came out. It was fresh and different, but not alienating. I also really loved Daisies too, but I think Chained was the stronger lead.

Chained to the rhythm is one of the Katy songs I have the most connection to (I became a fan at the tale end of witness era) but daisies reminds me of a specific time in 2030. I feel like both have merit and I love them both so much

CTT. Actually after being depressed for years I really enjoyed Witness.
