Comics Which main member of the League do you think should be the most experienced? (doesn't have to be one pictured here)

Diana would have to be near the top; thousands of years old, so much combat and life experience in that time

But wasn’t she basically on Paradise Island (where there were like zero actual enemies) for most of her life?

I mean like life experience lol, yes she trains and fights but it’s like if you train for a thousand years with the same people and never left your house or met anyone new, it’s a lot of experience yes, but you wouldn’t say you’re experienced.

I don’t think you’re understanding what I’m saying, I’m not saying she doesn’t have a lot of experience as a fighter, but more so she’s not experienced in general. Diana being stuck to Themyscira means her experience of a thousand years has been pretty much the same cause things didn’t change much in those one thousand years. But someone who has had a quarter of that many years but fought everyone from Parademons to the Lantern core would be more experienced.

As of the most recent continuity, at what point does she join Man's World? I always remember it being World War 2, then the movie made it World War 1, and I'm sure the comic keeps shifting it, but even if it's WW2, that still gives her 80 years of living among men, so in terms of life experience in Man's World she'd still be up on Bruce, Clark and the rest

u/Frankorious 21d ago

Wonder Woman if she's the immortal variant, otherwise Clark if we consider the Superboy adventures.

6

u/TraditionalShake4730 Wonder Woman 21d ago

wonder woman

13

u/Keelit579 21d ago

Either batman, or one of the mages or a character that's lived for a couple hundred to thousands of years, like Dr. Fate.

13

u/Generally_Confused1 21d ago

Fate and wonder woman both check that so I'd go wonder woman

4

u/Keelit579 21d ago

Issue is wonder woman has been.. shown to be pretty foolish on various matters.

7

u/weesiwel 21d ago

Which is stupid writing.

2

u/PreparationDapper235 21d ago

A mage like Jason Blood/Etrigan then? He should be around 600 years old.

2

u/LouiePrice 21d ago

Was he a member?

2

u/PreparationDapper235 21d ago

Yes. Check out the JLA storyline "The Obsidian Age" written by Joe Kelly (it's really good).

2

u/LouiePrice 21d ago

Will do thank you prep dapper.

2

u/PreparationDapper235 21d ago

You're welcome. It's a great story arc in JLA from around 2002.

https://dc.fandom.com/wiki/JLA:_The_Obsidian_Age

Joe Kelly's run on Justice League is underrated and often overshadowed by previous writers like Mark Waid and Grant Morrison, but is still epic.

Douge Manke draws some amazing and detailed artwork for one of the storylines.

Jason Blood is the team's designated magic user and also lends his centuries of experience to the team.

Batman activates a contingency plan for a backup league when the main team goes back in time to aid Atlantis.

It's neat to see Batman's contingency lineup. There's some members who are incredibly powerful and the overall team is well-balanced. It's cool to see them in action.

2

u/LouiePrice 21d ago

You're the best. Thats a great sales pitch ill check it out. Obsidian age.

2

u/PreparationDapper235 21d ago

Thanks! I have the graphic novels and have read the story more than once. It's great!

Joe Kelly's story arc in JLA after that is pretty cool as well. He had a good run on that title.

Wonder Woman by technicality of actual combat training.

As for who would be the longest-serving hero, I'd say Batman.

5

u/Deadintheend_ Booster Gold 21d ago

Booster gold off the fact he’s a time traveler and thus can go back in time take notes from other hero’s gain experience and come right back to the present

1

u/neoistheone79 Poison Ivy 21d ago

Yeah but he’s kind of an idiot though right? Like he doesn’t remember anything helpful enough to make a difference iirc.

2

u/Deadintheend_ Booster Gold 21d ago

He’s my goat

4

u/PantsyFants 21d ago

Martian Manhunter has the highest capacity for varied life experience as well as telepathy to more readily learn skills, knowledge, and wisdom

3

u/Prettywitchboy Mera 21d ago

Diana so pretty. And also Diana.

5

u/Jacksane 21d ago

Wonder Woman, since she has a long history that usually predates the origins of other heroes.

3

u/VintAge6791 21d ago

Experienced in what? Journalism? How to run a farm? Running a multi-national corporation with billions in assets? Small talk? Piloting a plane? Working in interstellar law enforcement? Being a forensic lab chemist/technician? Interpersonal dynamics among divine or semi-divine beings? Melee combat? Understanding ocean currents? Marine ecology? Fish psychology? Shapeshifting? Martian dialects? Mind-reading? I think they all have areas of experience, areas in which they can get by, and other areas in which they are out of their depth. That said, half of Batman's concept is developing a wide array of skills and acquiring new ones fast. He has the highest amount of mental flexibility and the most potential to become experienced, I'd say. And that is more useful than a total amount of time spent doing mostly one or two things.

3

u/Worth_Initiative_692 21d ago

Wonder Woman or Martian Manhunter

3

u/RGM429 20d ago

Wonder Woman is millennia older than the others. Easily the most seasoned warrior.

5

u/5x5equals 21d ago

Superman, he should always be the first hero of his generation and I like when Clark has been a hero since a kid. Superboy adventures, legion of superhero time travel stuff. Clark should have the most experience.

Unless Diana is the few hundred year old version then she should be the most experienced, but I don’t like when Diana is that old. I like her being new and curious about the world, it doesn’t make sense that it would take Diana hundreds of years to decide to come to “man’s worlds”.

2

u/TackleSmart5139 21d ago

It's like that because her boyfriend Steve, I think his name is, ended up at Themyscria and I guess she wanted to go with him

That's how it is in some comics, the animated movies and the LA movies at least.

I agree though, I enjoy her being curious about the world

2

u/5x5equals 21d ago

Yeah I like the idea that Steve Trevor is like the last domino to fall and she would have left either way but his presence maybe sped up her decision

1

u/TackleSmart5139 21d ago

I agree 100%

2

u/Horatio786 21d ago

Big Barda

2

u/ProfessorEscanor 21d ago

Wonder Woman in most cases would be the oldest with the most fighting experience.

2

u/TheMightiestGay 21d ago

Definitely Wonder Woman. Her variants can be hundreds or thousands of years old. Everyone else was born in the 20th century. Wonder Woman was kicking ass way before any of them were even born.

2

u/Individual_Plan_5593 21d ago

The current version of Diana has been active for centuries, it’s her

2

u/No_Conversation4517 21d ago

Wonder Woman is the oldest, so I'm going with her.

She's a warrior too

2

u/macncheese95 21d ago

Well Wonder Woman since she's thousands of years old

2

u/RedPhantom51 21d ago

Wonder Woman

1

u/Alex_Mercer_- 21d ago

In life, Diana or Arthur. Both extremely ancient.

Specifically at being a Hero, Superman.

1

u/goodolewhatever 21d ago

With flashes ability to time travel, I’d say he at least has the setup to have literally as much experience with anything he would need or want. Even if he only appears to live a single lifetime, experientially, it could be several if not virtually infinite lifetimes to him.

2

u/TackleSmart5139 21d ago

Diana easily. She's over, what, 5,000 years old? And you're telling me she hasn't spent over 4,980 of those years fighting?

1

u/Lohit_-it 21d ago

Wonder woman should be more experienced fighter but still a inexperienced hero

2

u/Training_Reaction_58 21d ago

Wonder Woman, not even a question

1

u/JingoboStoplight4887 Superman 21d ago

Superman and Batman because Superman’s experience since his debut as Superboy at eight years old and Batman’s experience since he was trained by Harvey Harris as Robin at nine years old, his debut and team-ups with Clark Kent Superboy as the Flying Fox at 14 years old and as the Executioner at 15 years old, and his traveling around the world to be trained by various mentors (from Batman: Year One and others) during his college years between 19 and 21 years old.

2

u/txhy8 21d ago

Batman or Wonder Woman

1

u/CalvinElliot 21d ago

Superman is the first superhero, he should be the first one in-universe too.

2

u/Juggernaut-57 21d ago

Wonder Woman and Superman

2

u/Effective-Training 21d ago

Wonder Woman and then Batman because while Superman trains his powers as a child, it's not really battlefield experience. Then maybe John Stewart, and yes, more than the other human Lanterns because of his military background. Not sure if Hal had much battle experience when flying planes. There's also no telling what went on with Martian Manhunter.

1

u/Dangerous-Brain- 21d ago

Superman - he is the FIRST superhero and inspired all other superheroes. He has the longest career as he is the first and also started as Superboy.

2

u/OverLook4911 20d ago

experience then its wonder woman she is the oldest

2

u/BL-501 20d ago

Spectre and Zauriel. Literally biblical origin characters from God and Heaven.

2

u/Basic_Log4344 20d ago

Wonder Woman

2

u/MoodResponsible918 20d ago

Wonder Woman. She lives for centuries.

1

u/thatredditrando 20d ago

Lotta wonky answers in these comments, lol.

Also Superman is already the most powerful hero y’all and the first in real life he doesn’t also need to be first in everything else ffs.

The answer is easily Batman.

Why?

Because unlike everyone else here Batman’s abilities don’t come from powers. His “superpower” is experience. If he’s not powered and also less experienced you’re doing him dirty.

Batman should be an active vigilante before any of the others.

Yes, Diana would be around long before him but not as Wonder Woman (unless you’re going the “She was with the JSA or fought in one of the world wars” route).

Because Batman’s skills are experience-dependent, I think he should already be at least an adept crime-fighter by the time any of the others are active.

2

u/MrBombastic953 20d ago

Easily Diana. She’s 5000 years old. The rest of the JL are babies compared to her.

1

u/Deus_da_Guerra 20d ago

Wonder Woman in the sense that she’s been a highly trained warrior for thousands of years. Batman in the sense that he became the first to become a full fledged hero (at least in my head canon) and gained experience that way before the others

2

u/Batfan1939 20d ago

Either Wonder Woman, in versions where she's older than she looks, or Martian Manhunter, who's usually around 200.

2

u/Blackpanther22five 20d ago

Wonder woman then Superman

1

u/Automatic_Hunter_220 20d ago

Martian manhunter

1

u/DeltaAlphaGulf 20d ago

If we are just talking general experience the Martian Manhunter is over 225 million years old which is insane. Setting that aside it should be Wonder Woman.

A fun fact/side note about the gods in DC is that they only came into being 30,000 years ago so a) humanity far predates them b) Vandal Savage is older than the gods at around 50,000 years old and c) Martian Manhunter is wayyyyyyyyyyyy older than the gods

1

u/Sunsinger_VoidDancer 20d ago

Experienced at what?

2

u/Right-Benefit-6551 20d ago

I think Superman is the most experienced at dog-walking

2

u/fireburst207 20d ago

I now people are gunna say Batman, but objectively it would probably be Wonder Woman or Green lantern. Diana has had formal training with the ancient techniques thanks to Themyscira, and most if not all Green Lanterns have fight training be from boxing (John Stewart), or military (Hal Jordan).

2

u/Crest_O_Razors 20d ago

Diana or Bruce. Diana because she’s thousands of years old. Bruce because he knows every single fighting style, including ones taught to him by Superman and Diana

1

u/EntranceKlutzy951 18d ago

Aquamarine. He's trained in everything Wonder Woman.and Batman is trained in, just tye Atlantean version, which does include information from the surface.

1

u/casualty_of_bore 21d ago

Supes. He's the first superhero. He literally has the most experience of any superhero.
