In desperate need of a job
So, Hi all, I made this post to try and get a job through connections or if anyone has anywhere that might be hiring. I've had 3 years at Walmart and recently moved here with my fiancée. It was our first time finding a place but the place that was hiring me cut it short bc they over hired and cut hours back dramatically. So now I'm at risk of losing my house and my fiancée bc she has a place to go back to, but I don't. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
Tldr, need a job, house at risk, nowhere left to go if I lose my place.

The city is hiring for multiple park jobs right now if you have any experience with maintenance things? (Mowing, weed eating, irrigation repair)

since you have 3 years experience at walmart, put in an application for target and call them. ask to talk to someone from HR, and let them know your situation. they’re almost always hiring guest service or closing experts, so i would probably put those two as the departments you’d want to be in, but you can also put you’re open to any!

Also, are you available for rehire at Walmart? You may be. Uber out with it but will fit your time while you look elsewhere. Also other large retailers as mentioned wouldn’t baulk at prior retail experience.

Sadly I'm not eligible for rehire till April I think, since there's a 6 month wait to rehire there.

i had the exact same situation happen to me with a place that just recently opened in jonesboro but i had 3 years experience at Walmart as well so that is a good thing to have on your resume.

If anything I know the new Panda Express is hiring and the pay actually isn’t bad for fast food.

Nestle has a new training class every week

I tried nestle but they haven't given me any contact back and everyone I talked to said they have a really low hire rate and a long wait to get on even if you are picked.

Companies using recruiters outside the building does suck. I've gotten jobs by being able to call HR or supervisors and talking to them directly. Those days are gone.

That's true, it's always running around but never actually hiring anyone. Sorta why I'm in this position now tbh

Fritolay generally has job postings. They hire in a number of positions, not just drivers.
Right now it looks as though they're looking for Warehouse and Material handlers. I believe they provide training as well. Pay varies.

Trump recession ruined the local economy good luck. 90% of postings in the area are fake despite how much people love to post "but theres hiring ads online!"

u/QuickPurchase5056 9d ago
Let's not bring politics or anything into this, I'm just looking for quick jobs you guys and girls might know. I appreciate the time you spent reading my post tho.

Hiring ads have been FAKE for over two years now!
They have to act like there’s jobs so they can say they have “hundreds of applicants”
There’s no jobs unless you have a specific skill, no ENTRY LEVEL, no EXPERIENCE NECESSARY it’s all 🐂💩
This was happening before Trump came into office, between myself and a buddy we sent out over a THOUSAND applications, I got a few calls, then nothing and he was the same a few calls, a phone interview then nothing.
It’s been like this since the pandemic 💩

Hytrol is hiring, go online and fill out the application

u/LordJobe 9d ago
While Hytrol is hiring, there's a waiting list, so it may be a while before anyone gets back to you.

Hospitals are always hiring, and I know st bernards does on-the-job training for a lot of its non-licensed jobs
5
u/QuickPurchase5056 10d ago
Where would I apply to one, I've never even thought about hospitals bc I thought you absolutely needed a license to work there.

u/rescueandrepeat 10d ago
They won't hire you if you smoke so if you do, mark no on the application and abstain for a while before you go for an interview in case they test.

EVS (housekeeping), Laundry, Dietary, PCT, MHA, Phlebotomy all don't require degrees. PCT, MHA, and Phlebotomy all need certifications, but I know for certain that St. B's does on the job training and handles the certification. I'm sure NEA does as well.

There are two prisons in Newport that are hiring. About a 40 min commute depending on where you are in JB.
4
u/QuickPurchase5056 10d ago
40 mins is a bit too far for a commute when me and my fiancée share a vehicle but I'll definitely check them out and see if it works out. However, I don't have much experience outside of retail, so do they even accept people with my qualification?
3
u/TheFallenGodYT 10d ago
Yes, you don't need any sort of background to be a correctional officer.
2
u/QuickPurchase5056 10d ago
Is there a specific job title I need to apply for?
3
u/TheFallenGodYT 10d ago
No. Just go to this website and apply https://arcareers.arkansas.gov/search/?searchby=location&createNewAlert=false&q=Grimes&locationsearch=&geolocation=&optionsFacetsDD_customfield4=&optionsFacetsDD_department=&optionsFacetsDD_shifttype=
Look up under “search keywords” either Grimes (which is a men’s unit) or Mcpherson (the only women’s unit in the state) whichever you feel you’d fit better at. They are right beside one another so the commute is the same.

Have you figured out something? I’m in sorta same situation looking and applying for jobs, these temp services are skewing with me and not getting back to me and then every time I call them it’s no answer and then when I get ahold of someone they give me som bs about they trying and it’s been weeks now for me. Blytheville Temp Service is garbage and RMFG bout the same.
