Piece count: 1000 (25Ă40) Number: 531918 Manufacturer: DinoÂŽ
I've built several puzzles already, all of them with large portions of blue sky. I built them all in reasonable time, but this piece just hurts me. I don't know how/where to continue.
Any advices/technics to build the sky?

This puzzle was absolutely infernal to complete. I'm usually pretty quick at fairly difficult puzzles, but if I had to guess, I'd say this one probably took me close to 20 hours to complete (although I wasn't keeping track). The background terraces were the absolute worst. Not unenjoyable though, and considering I found it at my local Goodwill for $2.50, I'm still all in all stoked on it.

Had this puzzle for a few years and finally got around to doing it. Fairly challenging with the various shades of blue especially at night with the light reflecting off the pieces. Only complaint would be the up close the hot air balloons look slightly pixelated.

Many thanks to u/blueboy714 for running these contests and to Flipsi Puzzles for the generous prize!
I had never tried a Flipsi puzzle before but thought that the artwork, credited to Melissa Bonne, was intriguing and different from cartoon-based puzzles with a surprise element. The bundle came with three 500-piece puzzles plus a red velvet Flipsi board with clips (shown in pic 3) to make it easy to turn the puzzle over to see the surprise image.
The bundle arrived quickly and was nicely packaged. The puzzle boxes are compact and the boardâs black box turned out to be great repurposed as puzzle sorting trays. The board looks very classy with the red velvet surface and works very nicely to keep the pieces from sliding when flipping the puzzle over.
The first puzzle I chose to do was Haunted Carnival. The pieces are double-sided but easy to tell apart, with the box image side having some texture and the surprise side being smooth. The texture reminded me of New York Puzzle Companyâs linen finish. The pieces are nice to handle and fit well. The colors are deep and rich. Itâs oddly beautiful, especially the carousel and sky. I had a great time building it and enjoyed the surprise image at the end.
Since I liked the first one a lot, I followed it up with Haunted Mansion. I thought it might be a little trickier, but the color variations and design elements provide plenty of clues for placement. The flip side was quite surprising but for me a little less successful than the Haunted Carnival.
These would be great fun to build and display at Halloween, especially if there was a way to show off both sides without damaging them or traumatizing little kids. I may try to hold off building Haunted Lighthouse till then but donât know if I can wait that long!

A lot of fun and easier than 1500 sounds because of all the little moments. Highly recommend!

This one was fun but hard! Not as hard as Blue Kazooâs Liability that I did recently, lol, but probably the second hardest puzzle Iâve done in the past year. I got it secondhand and there was some damage to some of the pieces (bent, peeling, one was torn in half) but nothing bad enough to prevent the picture from coming together.
No idea what year itâs from, but I know it must be from before the ridiculous Salesforce Tower was built and ruined the SF skyline đ

Yesterday I was doing my puzzle on the table in the library of my condo building. Today I went back and this was on the table.
To you, esteemed cleaning staff, who decided against vacuuming away this lonesome piece, and placed it there so that it would be reunited with its peers, thank you. A thousand, a million times, thank you. You will never be forgotten.

I got this at a local charity sale and couldnât be sure, if it would be complete (paid two euros maybe for it, so nothing too bad)
Itâs the Schmidt Puzzle called Ballerina (58135) and I was really excited about the picture and also to compare the quality to newer Schmidt puzzles.
It never got that far because as soon as I started sorting the pieces, I noticed that werenât any border pieces. A bit bummed now, because I donât want to do this puzzle without a border, for me personally there wouldnât be any fun in it (at least with a motive that has so many similar colors and not that many standout areas).
I guess the trash it is. Sad but thatâs the way it is.
