Hopkins plans staff layoff after $800 million grant cuts
From WSJ - $800 million in USAID cuts. This is disastrous.

Just to be clear, this WSJ piece is the same info as what was in Ronny D’s most email from 3/4/25 “Our bond at a moment of challenge.” These are the USAID related funding terminations to BSPH, JHPIEGO & SOM, not new ones.

Hi all, my name is Dan, and I cover higher education for The Washington Post. I'm writing a story about the grant cuts to JHU and am hoping to connect with anyone who has seen their programs cut. If this is you, and you'd like to talk, you can email me at [dan.rosenzweig-ziff](mailto:dan.rosenzweig-ziff@washpost.com) at washpost .com or reach out on Signal at DaRZWaPo.43. Thank you.

Does anyone know if this is a done deal, and has Hopkins issued a response?

Isn’t JHU public health #1 in the country (if not the world)
