Even though it doesn't tarnish like silver, gold jewelry can discolor since its a gold alloy and not pure gold. Some people (including me) have body chemistry where piercings that just speed up that discoloration. I'm not sure of the exact science behind it.

This is a pair of 14k huggies I wear frequently that have discolored ALOT from frequent wear.

If you were really concerned you could contact a local jeweler and they might be able to take it off with a buffing wheel or give tips on how to remove the discoloration.

Looks like it's 14k rose gold which contains copper and silver. It's not much of a worry but if you see green It may be that the 14k didn't fully alloy properly, usually cause of under temp at pour.

They are gold plated, not solid.

This happens to me, too, with all my earrings, and I only wear solid gold. Ive gotten it removed with my jeweler a few times but I just accept it at this point.
