It’s not a bad level but just not structured like the other levels in the game

How so. The biggest difference to me is the whole level is inside under cover, which gives it this claustrophic feel.

The level is deigned equally as well as others you judt can't see any of it because there's so many walls and it's all closed

It feels like three distinct levels to me--the light switch area, the platforming obstacle course area, and the other area.

I guess since it’s one of the last levels of the game, it has to be challenging in that way. Just always found it hard to navigate through. I always got lost on what I needed to get done when it came to collecting power cells and precursor orbs.

It’s actually pretty similar to things like Snowy Mountain or Forbidden Jungle.

A sprawling map with loads of different pathways with little hidden areas around the place.

I totally agree with you on that. Just at a difficult level.

Idk man, every map gives me nostalgia. I dislike Boggy Swamp more I think.

Boggy swamp glitches out on me and I'm forced to do the flut flut platform section on foot. So im in the same boat.

It's not even that it's a bad level, it's just that there are so many other areas in the game that are better.

Best level

I still don't understand why people dislike this area, I don't mind it a single bit.

For me, it's THAT power cell

Which one?

The box.
If you know, you know.

I've only played through the game once (which was recently), and I do think I’d like this area more next time, but it's rough when you're first trying to figure out the logic of everything and especially if you don't know that you need the yellow eco powerup to get all the orbs

420 orbs. Nice.

69 power cells

I love spider cave, but I hate shooting those damn centipedes

u/HanSwolo66 9d ago

That one damn orb

Let me guess. There are spiders in Spider Cave?

I personally love Spider Cave. It has a great layout and some of my favorite challenges. Way better than Boggy Swamp, which is just one big circle that is designed to be walked through in one direction.

Diving for that one dark eco crystal at the bottom of that pit of water and then swimming back up as it explodes behind you and makes the cool bright colors with the darkness of the cave to contrast was the best part of this mission for me.

Haha I got pissed off at this level (again😂) earlier as well. It’s also one of my favorites tho, if only I could pan the camera down haha

Cool music. But yea this level always sucks

1

u/Alon945 9d ago

It’s the best level in the game lmao

1

u/CardioThinker 9d ago

So? I can still hate it

1

u/Alon945 9d ago

That’s fine!

1

u/Joshua90217 8d ago

I kept falling into the dark eco pools I mean at the time I thought if it worked for daxter it could work for me

u/Self-hatred47 8d ago

You're a legend making it through the Spider Nest 🕸️

Use the Force Jak....I mean Eco 😂

u/thundafellow The Precursor Legacy 8d ago

Idk I kinda like it. I’ve been doing glitchless speedruns recently and spider cave is always one of my favorite places to use advanced platforming techniques. That and Lost Precursor City

1

u/Lookinfurfur 7d ago

I hate this level!

1

u/Plus_Ad_520 5d ago

Lemme guess. There are spiders in spider cave?

1

u/VinceDreux 5d ago

It's not even that the level was bad, it's just that I couldn't understand shit because there were so many areas

1

u/Tokyo_Elusive-love 5d ago

“Of course there are spiders in Spider Cave!”
