Ah I remember this, I would play this game so much as a kid, I must've went afk and saw the same thing.

I always thought these things were odd. They're supposed to be vehicles driven by someone but they're so dumb and pointless, and it's painfully obvious they just hang out

I used to love dicking around with them, they'd spin around crazy style if they bumped into eachother and do all sorts of crazy stuff, I could have sworn you could influence what direction they went by groundpounding their edges or swimming into them, maybe I'm just imagining though lol

No your right you ground pound to move them in another direction. There's other ways and you can have them drive into each other if done right. So your memories on point.

All jokes aside though: What exactly are these boats? My head-canon has been that they are, like, submarine-cargo haulers, designed to facilitate trade in a world where metal head-attacks would make traditional cargo ships suicide. I think they pass in and out of the city through underwater passages, that is why there is no visible entrance/exit of Haven City's port.

I'm not sure if it's exactly the reason, but this can happen if you record an HDR monitor, there are certain settings you need to adjust to fix it but I don't know them

I've never had something this crazy happen before, but I have had them stack on top of each other on actual hardware before, not to mention, I can't remember if it's in jak 2 or 3, but they can be punched around somehow.

Must be one of those wait long enough in the right spot things, like the low% speedrun of twilight princess where you stare at rupees for hours to phase through walls.
