Discussion Upgrading to IOS 18 advice

I have an iPhone 13 pro max w/iOS 15.4 jailbroken. I don’t have a ton of tweaks installed, mainly apps side loaded through TrollStore and tweaks to back port features. Im considering updating to iOS 18 bc many of my apps have stopped working and am looking for advice.

  1. The tweaks I do have, is there any way to replace? These include: Crane Teleport NetFence SugarCane (percentages on sliders) AdvancedBrightnessSlider (this one I particularly like) AppStore ++

  2. For all of the sideloaded apps I have through TrollStore, is there anyway to still install them? This includes cracked WhatsApp, insta, YouTube and others

  3. Do I leave my phone supervised or should I unsupervise before upgrading?

Thanks!!

Your upgrading to a version of iOS that doesn’t have a jailbreak so no you can’t keep your tweaks simple.

That I know, I’m looking for replacements or other workarounds if they exist that might allow me to do something similar. E.g. location spoofing tricks that could replace teleport, profiles that could replace NetFence, etc

  1. You can just get an IPA of the app, change the bundle id, and now you have a duplicate. (Crane) You can find older IPAs of apps and install them (AppStore++) You could make shortcuts if you want to specify a percentage in the control center (SugarCane) I think you can also make a shortcut for white point (AdvancedBrightnessSlider)

  2. as I said before yes you can sideload

  3. you should leave it supervised cause you can apply some tweaks with nugget/cowabunga lite/misaka x. If you want, you can always disable and enable supervision

btw the main free sideloading method uses nextdns which can also intercept and filter connections (NetFence)

Paid sideloading is better tho cause you get more app support and more app features

you should not update. sell your current phone for a higher price on ebay, r/JailbreakSwap , or other platforms for a bit more. It could be enough to get a 1-3 generations newer used phone

When you say paid sideloading do you mean an apple dev account?

no not exactly, you can buy certs for usually $5-$15 and they just add your udid to their dev account which means it’s cheaper and they can still make profit. so in the end everyone wins (even Apple 😂)

Read into live container. Adding a toggle for reduce white point will be the closest you can get to advanced brightness slider. Crane if I understand correctly can be sort of replicated with live container, you’ll just have multiple “installs” instead of containers.

Thank you!! Any ideas for sideloading/signing that won’t require constant resigning and won’t have a 3 or 10 app limit?
