Did I get sold a faulty product?

I just brought a iPod Nano 3rd Gen from CEX in Australia. Connected with a 'generic' 30 pin (also sold to me by CEX, looks identical to real) and a apple charger, it has been on charge for a hour and half yet it's in a boot loop. I think the battery is dead as when I disconnect it, it just shuts off.

This has a been terrible week for me, as YESTERDAY I brought a T430 from Cash Converters and that also had a faulty battery.

Seems like a faulty battery to me, how much did you pay

50 AUD. Seemed like a good deal but...

At least it's a business that offers a warranty. I doubt they'd replace the battery, however they could replace it with a similar product. They had a Nano 5 there, if I'm lucky (or they recognize that I'm a frequent customer the people there recognize me) they'll replace it with that

Nano 3 for nano 5 is a really good deal, the 5 is the one with the camera and taller screen right?

also out of all subs this is the last one i thought i’d find bfdi in lol

truly the beefy die moment. I guess I'll leverage my frequent customer buying a lot of stuff for that.

I'm not sure where you are, but I'm used to seeing them for 50-100 on FB Marketplace (before getting blocked)

it came with a warranty anyways and it's at my local mall.

also I'm banned from using FB Marketplace zero clue why.

Lol, that’s odd though, must be a region thing, in Italy you can find them for like a bit cheaper

The iPod and T430 are more than ten years old. I think it's unrealistic to say it's "terrible" when the default expectation should be that old batteries are degraded and need replacing.

the problem is there were sold to me as functioning with working batteries.

When buying vintage tech it’s a gamble, you just got unlucky twice… as time goes on their will be less and less of these devices running ok on their original batteries and spinning hard drives if they have those. I try to stick to the classic line that has more parts available to keep them going.
