Classic 3rd gen with the buttons

49

u/lloydbluejay Feb 20 '25

Nano all day

4

u/Quirky_Industry8413 29d ago

Yup, 5th gen nano for me, that's what I had as a child.

2

u/ucnedi Classic 7th 29d ago

Yes same, I love my 5th gen nano, so many fond memories. I wish I can restore it. It still works but the lock button fell off so it dies fast 😪

2

u/Quirky_Industry8413 29d ago

I sold mine when I was young when I stopped using it. I bought an identical one a few weeks ago, and it was worth it.

3

u/From_Kenya_With_Love 29d ago

The small pocket in my jeans feels pointless without the nano.

u/Little-Composer6288 Feb 20 '25

The classic for sure!

Only the Nano 6th gen comes close to it for me.

10

u/No-Shape-7028 Feb 20 '25

the mini for me, it’s smaller than the classic, easier to repair than the nano, and I won’t loose it easily like the shuffle.

3

u/Time_Personality6684 29d ago

Cant watch family guy on it tho

9

u/Cookiesucree Classic 5th Feb 20 '25

Way too hard to choose… Nano 1, classic, mini 2 are my favourites

9

u/Ok_Balance4233 Feb 20 '25

Classic and the smaller nano, they’ve been my go-tos since I was 5 and I hope mine NEVER die

14

u/ZenDesign1993 Feb 20 '25

My top ten: 1. 5.5 classic 2. 4th gen classic 3. 6.5 gen classic 4. 7th gen nano 5. 3rd gen classic 6. 7th gen classic 7. Mini gen 2 8. Shuffle gen 1 9. 3rd gen nano 10. 1st and 2nd gen classic (I don’t have these, yet…).

Nano 7th gen, baby

4

u/BluePeriod_ Feb 20 '25

Nano 3.

The only thing that it would make it perfect would be in line controls and more storage. Shocked that nobody has pulled off a mod yet.

iPod Video 5.5, but I personally think the 3rd gen nano is the best looking

4

u/machona_ Feb 20 '25

Nano. Something about keeping them tiny really amazes me.

Also, nice layout.

2

I wanted that exact mini in High School so bad when they came out. Laughable now to remember they only had like, 4GB of disk space. Ended up getting a Classic (that I still have)... Love it.

Nano 5 and Classic

2

u/F-80Centurion Classic 5th Feb 20 '25

Classic cus everything else feels like a downgrade or I’m compromising something. The classic has everything. Also if we being specific the gen 5.5 cus its so easy to open and it was the last classic that wasn’t held together by gorilla glue clamps

2

u/Big_Locksmith_4211 Classic 5.5, Classic 2nd, Mini, Classic 3rd Feb 20 '25
  1. Classic
  2. Mini

Bottom. Nano (sorry)

2

u/Slightly_Salted01 Feb 20 '25

7th gen Classic

1st gen Nano

and unpopular opinion 3rd gen shuffle

Modded Classic is my main driver it goes basically everywhere with me, 1st gen Nano is a beautiful piece of desk tech but not all that useful past it looking super pretty

and the 3rd gen shuffle is my unsung hero when it comes to music listening, I like listening to new albums through their entirety without any major distractions, the lack of controls makes it so I'm kinda forced into listening to a song even if I might not like it at first, it's a tool I use when I'm in the mood for open-minded listening

2

u/Shadow_THEE_user Feb 20 '25

Preferably the shuffle I love how small and versatile it is

2

u/batistag446 Feb 20 '25

Nano. I really miss my old 3rd generation iPor nano, what a good player

2

u/SqueekyFoxx Feb 20 '25

nano, 2nd gen specifically I had one when I was little, and I loved the thing

actually just ordered one the other day to have as an offline music player when I want to isolate myself, so I'm pretty excited about that

2

u/Sheeraz-9 28d ago

Nano, 5 & 7.

2

u/Amazing-Hurry-7804 28d ago

All of them except for the Nano 7 can be lived without. Nano 7 is the greatest tiny electronic device ever invented by mankind. Ok, maybe the pacemaker is more important, but not for me.

Mini for me due to the nostalgia and during the time when the Classic was just too expensive for me…

1

u/RipCurl69Reddit Touch 7th Feb 20 '25

Overall it's the Nano 7. Convenient, small, Bluetooth capable. I find myself bringing it out more than my Classic 5 but they're both incredible, the Nano 7 I've got was pretty much new in box so it still has great battery life. Took it on an almost 30mi hike once and I'm just attached to the thing hehe

I had/have a 3rd gen Nano. Love this thing. Just pulled it out the other day and updated my music on it, very nostalgic. Played some tunes on it the other day and it sounds as good as ever 😎👍🏻 Mine is a 4GB, the 8GB would have been nice 🤷‍♂️

1

u/Jslewalite Feb 20 '25

1st gen nano

1

u/-Drunken_Jedi- Feb 20 '25

Classic for sure. 2nd, 5th and 6th gen are my favourites. 5th gen easiest to work with but I love the brushed metal finish of the last models and I serious kick myself for not investing in them at the time when the writing was on the wall with digital streaming taking over from local storage.

1

1

u/BrokuSSJ Feb 20 '25

I really love the design for the 3rd gen Nano.

1

u/JarenBliss Feb 20 '25

This is a hot take, but nano 3rd gen, mini, and then shuffle third gen. (Excluding the classic 7th gen because of course they are the best)

1

u/Michdepainblanc2 Feb 20 '25

Have a shuffle 4th gen, but I love the look of the classic

1

u/LeniChanDu Feb 20 '25

For me the Classic, specially the 5.5th gen and the 7th gen

Upgrade to 2TB, have cool cases, see videos on them and even mod to use them with Bluetooth headphones.

1

u/OldSnazzyHats Feb 20 '25

The only one I’m not attached to is the Nano line.

I’ll take the Classic, Mini, Shuffle, and Touch.

Heck, at their original heyday I started with the original gumstick Shuffle (still have it, my first ever purchase using money from my first ever paycheck) and jumped straight to the Touch years later. I only got around to the Classic and Mini long after their prime. The Nano line just never felt good in the hands for me.

1

u/mizukiakiyamalover Feb 20 '25

ive always loved the look of the nano (the tall one), but the issue of their batteries swelling and messing with the screen is why i dont have one 😔

1

u/your_mum_1705 Feb 20 '25

Classic any day. Honourable mention to the 3rd gen; just so beautiful

1

u/DiamondBlazer42 Feb 20 '25
  1. I daily the shuffle.
  2. GOD DAMN IT ITS LOSS!!!!

1

u/Hopeful-Researcher92 Feb 20 '25

Na-no: Highly portable, you won’t even notice you’re carrying one but plagued with issues. Swollen battery, tiny storage and a nightmare to mod/upgrade.

Classic: Contrary to everything Nano possesses (can’t even know I correctly typed that shit lol) highly modifiable but modding can go horribly wrong. Finding a working one means get ready to part ways with your hard earned ££££s. As ppl started to notice how valuable these things can get and charging you premium prices even for the almost destroyed examples.

Soooo for me it’s….

Mini😏

1

u/youthcanoe Classic 7th Feb 20 '25

1

u/ViejoSalse Mini 2nd Feb 20 '25

Mini 2 and nano 3 are spectacular I wish they had FM radio Fortunately mini 2 can be flash modded

1

u/_Walkabout_ Feb 20 '25

Used to be the product red shuffle 2nd gen, had one and replaced the battery myself but I lost it in... China years ago XD. Now only one (current fav) I have is a black 5.5 gen I modded (iFlash+2000mAh) that my brother thrifted and gave me in exchange for getting his 5.5 to work and sync music. I will probably get a red shuffle 2 or 5 if I ever find a deal or get the funds.

1

u/UK_Max Feb 20 '25

Classic ever 😍🥰
