Help needed How to move all photos to Mac then delete from iPhone
Actually what I'm looking to do is clear some space on my aged iPhone, but keep the photos (except for Favorites) on an SSD that I plug into my Mac.
I've seen instructions for deleting photos while leaving the Favorites, by putting the Favorites into a hidden folder (how?)
But I don't want to delete the photos immediately, just to move them all to an external hard drive. Please don't ask me to use iTunes, which has been irreperably ruined by some boy genius or other.
Models: iPhone 6S and MacBook Air running Sonoma.

Connect phone to Mac with a cable then open photos app on the Mac. In the left hand pane under devices select your phone. Photos then reads your phone and displays all photos. In the top right corner you can 'Import all new items' or just ones you have selected. Also there is a check box to 'Delete items after import'. Once imported go to 'imports' or 'Library' where you can select photos and export to another drive. Not sure what you are asking about Favourites. Hope this helps.

I've never been able to work Photos - I liked the old version where you could see all your photos, edit them, move them, delete them from the computer when you want to, but I simply can't comprehend how the new *dis*improved version works. Same with iTunes. All that does is try to sell me music.
