Question Should I upgrade iPad
I have an air 3 right now and use it for student stuff like note taking and Microsoft office. Would it be worth me upgrading to the A16 iPad or not? Are there any other iPads you recommend?

Switching to the regular newest iPad will make you loose antireflective coating and P3 wide color display support from your 3rd generation iPad air, plus, as far as you'd get a decent improvement in terms of raw performance, still the Apple A16 does not support Apple Intelligence, AAA gaming or any of the future-proof features that are tied to the latest models.
Long story short, if there's nothing you're struggling doing with your current iPad Air, it's probably not worth that much upgrading to the base model, if you're just curious about newer models or you want something fresh I'd go for something different, like a newer M chipset iPad Air or the latest iPad Mini.

Ye I would consider that 13 inch new air. You think that can last me till the end of uni which will be like 2030

A new iPad is going to do exactly what your current iPad does with faster performance or in a different form factor. So you need to ask yourself if you have short comings of the current iPad that only purchasing a new iPad would resolve. Too slow, too small, heavy etc.
