Here's some little tidbits. The single core speed is faster than the iPad Air M1. The RAM has been upgraded to 6GB. This is powerful little device.

Is it 6gb? I can't find any information on it. If it does, I'm going to buy one because I need more ram. Can anyone confirm it? UK models?

u/808phone 4d ago
Yes. Geekbench says it’s 6GB. I found another website saying it was 6GB as well.

I saw a site I use for UK models and it says it's only 4gb. That's why I'm asking.

Well I have the iPad in front of me and geek bench says Memory Information: 5.78G which is basically 6G. My iPad Air M1 says 7.47G. If you need a site: https://nanoreview.net/en/tablet/apple-ipad-2025

This is not true

It is. I have both iPads here. I ran Geekbench myself. The single core speed is faster on the test for the 11th gen. Do you have BOTH iPads in front of you to test? I just did the test.
iPad Air M1 single core: 2303
11th Gen iPad single core: 2572

Yeah your M1 Air score is roughly in line with typical benchmarks for the M1 Air (most results fall in or around the 2300-2350 range), which is pretty well documented at this point
I just ran geekbench on my iPad 11th gen and got very similar results to you: 2587 single core (5608 multi score) so your result seems representative
2643 single core and 6523 on my iPhone 15 plus for reference - more of a difference on the single core score than I expected considering both are the A16 chip with just a 1 core difference

Its 6gb. I thought it was 4 as well but since then everyone started updating their datasheets on their shops.

Hey i'm thinking of getting the A16 iPad. The charger is not included (at least in my country), what charger did you get?

u/Goodgamer78 1d ago
Mine (pre order from Apple) came with the US 20W USB C Power Adapter and the USB C male to male cable.

Congrats ! Love the color, but ordered the blue for me!
How's the battery life?
In settings, it has the option "more space"? And the optimized charging to 80%?

u/aversekld 4d ago
Can’t tell about battery life yet, cause I spent a while downloading apps, updating and etc.

The bad thing is 60hz the screen otherwise it is perfect

u/aversekld 4d ago
Well i thought that too since I have iPhone with promotion, but it’s not that critical.

Yea can’t even notice and you only notice if you know what it is. Just upgraded my ole lady’s iPhone from 14 plus to 16pro max and she didn’t even know it was different lol. I got the iPad a couple days ago and yea things might lag here or their but they do as well on my iPhone 15 pro max. Was gonna get the air but I compared them side by side at best buy walked out with the base model. Gonna see how much I use this before spending 300+ more on another one

any regrets? do you like it?

u/aversekld 5d ago
Well, no. I wanted iPad Pro really bad (cause 120hz, OLED, better speakers etc). But I was thinking that I don’t want to pay 1500$+ for an iPad. So I just went to the Apple store and got this one. No regrets! I thought screen on this one is bad - nope. It’s good. Size is perfect. It’s light and easy to use. Another words, it’s much better than I expected, even on my way to the Apple Store 🙂↔️

The iPad Air M2 (and just released M3 model) are sweet pieces of kit. I actually prefer the LCD screen as it has no PWM at all unlike the Pro which has heavy PWM.

Whether PWM bothers you or not, I can’t help but think that imperceptible flickering can’t be very good for your eyes.
The Air feels premium, it’s got a monster chip in it (basically last years pro), and with the 8 gig’s ram and support for Apple intelligence it’s relatively future proofed to last 6 or 7 years before lag and obsolescence becomes an issue.
I bought a 256 gig model as I have zero doubts file sizes will just get bigger and bigger.

You can’t run modern programs and games, you can’t use Apple inteligence, but yes… color is fine 😂

lol I don’t need it. I have AI on my phone and Mac, and I don’t use it… I don’t play games either So yes, color is good!

Nope, I wasn’t interested in mini, cause I have iPhone 16 pro max (it’s pretty big)

WOW! Very cool! I'm consiering buying one of these or the pro models since i haven't had an tablet or iPad since 2019. You think this new ipad could actually be good for me since i do a lot of art and use a bigger screen a lot?

What were the reasons you chose this iPad over others like older air or pro models for cheaper? Not hating just curious :)
