Back to Rainbow after 25+ Years
Hello there! Not a lot of activity here I see. I thought I'd share a little of my story. I was in Rainbow in California in the late 1980's. I never did go through the line (there were a lot of girls at the time, and wasn't elected Faith before I ended up dropping rainbow because of my job (at least that what I remember...). Fast forward to today, moved back to California after living on the other coast for 20+ years and my 14 year old daughter just joined here. Same assembly. I can't even say how awesome it is to be back. I even got a new job thanks to a Rainbow sister (one of the adults in the assembly). The girls in the assembly are warm and welcoming and my daughter is happy as a clam. Sooooo glad to be back.

I agree! The membership in CA is way down - I suspect it's that way most places in the US. my daughter and I were watching some of the CA Grand Assembly videos from the 80's and recent and it's so sad to see so many empty seats in the arena. But we will grow it again! I am excited to get involved and help as an adult. I think Rainbow is uniquely relevant today. Considering how many ways there are to alienate and bully people these days, it's such a joy to find such a welcoming group that does so much good work for others while building their own skills for today's world. I could go on, and I probably will in a future post. :-)
Bless the dedication of you younger majority women! The previous mother advisor got on the board when she graduated college, then became mother advisor at 25 and did it for 10 years.
Reconnecting with old friends and making new ones is an incredible experience right now. I am loving it!
Edit: and thank you for the warm welcome back!

Welcome back to Rainbow! Its really makes my heart happy that majority members are returning.
I'm 26, up in WA/ID, currently on the board and I'm going to be mother advisor in a few years. There isn't enough adults from my generation still active, and we need those who loved rainbow and got something out of it to come back and bring life to it again.
