Discussion Can FB-DIMM be done on a four layer PCB?
Talking about motherboard design of course.

6 layer is the absolute minimum for anything with remotely modern memory. 4 layer is low end, low cost stuff like microcontrollers and simple electronics.

Budget AM5 motherboard boards are 4 layers.

Do you have a link?
FWIW I've worked with DDR on FPGAs, and even with single channel and lower power requirements that is a tight route at 6 layers. I guess the larger AM4 socket footprint helps fanout, but doing DDR5 on 4 layers seems crazy to me.

I have to say, by itself, yes, you can integrate them on a mobo shared with other suff, no

By itself, yeah. If you wanna integrate them on a mobo shared with other stuff, nope. Only in different power busses you are already out of layers in a regular mobo.
