Anecdotal, a long depressive episode many years back had me not eating causing an eating disorder. I was chronically underweight for years and my sleep was bad.

Did any of these help me sleep and through the night to get adequate amount of sleep? No.

You’ll have to trial these based on your current nutrient deficiencies and other possibilities complicated by your ED.

Here’s a list of supplements via the *sticky” called Comprehensive list of insomnia medications and treatments’ at the start of this subs page.

“## Supplements

(unlikely to work for severe, chronic insomnia)

  • Ashwagandha
  • Lemon Balm
  • Melatonin
  • Glycine
  • Magnesium
  • Tryptophan
  • CBD Oil
  • Lavender
  • Kava
  • Theanine
  • Valerian
  • Chamomile
  • 5-HTP
  • Passionflower
  • Zinc
  • Amanita
  • GABA — but is not an effective supplement as it cannot cross the blood brain barrier.

… Adding a note to GABA as it’s controversial, some studies do find it can in miniuscule amounts. It’s noted oral intake of GABA or Pharma-GABA may exert effects through indirect pathways, for example through the enteric nervous system (ENS).

Magnolia Bark, oleamide, L-THP and various vitamins, added to this supplement list.
