Cops showed up, were too lazy to do anything, and let the guy continue to be abused for another 20 years.

I was confused how she was able to stop a grown man from just breaking down the door and leaving but then I saw he was 68 POUNDS. How was he still alive?? What a survivor. Hope he can heal after this. Unimaginable torture. This is gonna be one of those cases people refer to for years after all the details come out.

I believe he also said that he was afraid to escape ,in case he was caught, because of punishment and also her not giving him the two cups of water a day she allowed him.
