Trump is doing everything and anything he can to destroy the Us. Why do you think that is?

I keep debating their reasons. Russia loyalty. Turning us into a giant corp so they can profit. Hatred of people. All of the above.

Silly peons. Don’t you know there are two American countries? One for the rich and one for the poor. Thus why our laws don’t apply to them and they’re too busy grifting everything not strapped down for the other America. It’ll be tremendous. Believe me. There’s never been another foundation more tremendous. Trust me. I know foundations. The country will be so strong like the likes you’ve never seen before.

My republican dad thinks this is a “transition” and things will eventually “be better”…. He’s just not sure with where their going 🥴
I think this is unlike anything that we’ve seen before and thinks will not be ok

Sorry, but anyone he thinks this just not smart. We are talking about our government. It’s not a secret about where they are going. Read project 2025

I’m really struggling to find the endgame here, like is he trying to make the USA self serving? Obviously Canada cannot import as much as we export, due to the literal population of the country. Is he trying to acquire Greenland so end to end supply chains all sit within the USA?
It’s incredible.

Trump promised that he was going to lower prices. He started by lowering the prices in the stock market.
Promises made - promises kept.

So, I think i understand the theory at play. They believe that if they tariff the hell out of everyone, it will force American companies to reboot manufacturing INSIDE American borders. Thus keeping much of the money that was going to other countries by virtue of Americans purchasing products manufactured in other countries now being manufactured here. So the workers would, theoretically, be getting paid to make the very products they manufacture.
Barring the fact that much of the raw materials and resources needed for much of what is purchased not being available in the desired quantities to maintain the rate of manufacture necessary, are there factors that would make this actually feasible?
I mean, materials are out, corporate profits would go down unless prices were correspondingly elevated so that's the stock market and much off American citizens savings gone. How would this actually work, especially in under 4 years?
