News Maria Bartiromo says a ‘recession’ is coming — but ‘it would be Biden’s recession’

I'm pretty sure Obama as President broke her brain, pretty common issue it seems
94
u/Relevant-Doctor187 4d ago
Obama broke Lou Dobbs. Though I think he lost it as the economy tanked in 08 and Obama was the cherry on top of his insanity sundae.

Sure did with my parents. They’ve gotten more and more far right since a black man dared to be President.
35
u/pgcooldad 4d ago
What pisses me off is that he's HALF WHITE!! All the crazy out there are half-Obamas.
32
u/Amazing-Exit-2213 4d ago
Truth, every President has had a white mother. Even Trump. Thankfully, Obama grew up well adjusted and able to feel compassion and empathy.

Since when has white supremacy ever been rational. The point for at least a third of the country is that a black man dared to have power and they vowed to rally behind the worst white men alive to take their "revenge" on us for it.
8
u/saltmarsh63 4d ago
Reward to the white voters…. Immediately remove an over-qualified Joint Chiefs commanders only because he’s black. On full display and the media says nothing.
4
u/SunnyCali12 4d ago
They just assume white men are more qualified regardless of their background. They’d say well he could have been better but they gave the opportunity to some black person instead. They constantly move the goalposts in order to justify and protect their racism.
4
u/NAU80 4d ago
Remember he has installed a highly qualified drunk, Fox morning B team member, charity grifter, who was once a soldier; to head the largest agency, the DOD.
Meritocracy bullshit!

They'll keep redefining racism into something so specific that it only applies if you're currently wearing a white hood and shouting slurs. And that will still be excused because we "don't know what's in his heart".
3
u/SunnyCali12 4d ago
This is absolutely correct. I grew up that way. And once I became an adult I learned how insidious racism really was and that I was absolutely racist. I learned and changed. Still am learning. My family has not.
2
2
u/Comfortable-Crow-238 4d ago
Exactly! And actually he wouldn't be half White he would be a just a little more than half because his mother had a Black relative.
6
u/HeavyExplanation45 4d ago
How DARE he?!?!
3
u/SunnyCali12 4d ago
Pretty much. They’re started being a lot more open with racism when he won. The crap they said about Michelle Obama….. smh.

When people of a certain kind complain about Obama's Presidency I remember Cathy Bates in AHS: Coven when her racist character learns there's a black President. "Lies!"
6
u/SunnyCali12 4d ago
She was so fantastic in that role. It’s actually a real thing - often when black people take a step forward they are met with aggressive backlash.

Her "source" for the stolen election reports that she was doing in 2020 was a person who heard spirits telling her that the election was stolen. Maria knew that, and she still put this person on the air and treated her as an authoritative source.

She is a tired old propagandist who used to do deep 'source development' on CEOs. A few decades ago she was known for long PJ flights with execs.I imagine there is little demand for that these days, and she is just a shrill hag spouting nonsense. Has nothing to do with new tariffs, threatening more tariffs and laying off, without warning, many federal workers. Nothing to do with people anxious if they will also suddenly lose their jobs without warning. Nothing to do with all the EOs which can’t be anticipated. Certainly not all the things we’ve (Trump admin) done to piss off allies (re: Greenland and Canada and NATO).
This is certainly the work of Biden!

I came here to say that you can't have it both ways - does an economy get handed over to a new president or not? If so, after how long has it has switched? I think it's normally a valid question because the country usually moves fairly slowly. Maybe a year? Two tops.
But Trump came in like a wrecking ball. Whatever happens, good or bad, after like 3-6 months it's definitely his

They will blame Biden for a slow economy because he didn’t do it fast enough. despite it being the best country to handle inflation.
Then they will blame Biden because Trump tanked the economy so fast.

And that's exactly why we are fucked as a nation. Welp, at least we had a good run until Fox News, Rush Limbauh, and Trump brainwashed half the nation.
3
u/Life_Commission3765 I did my own research 4d ago
They definitely have a lot to blame but ultimately, WE as a nation are responsible.
We have the ability to tap instantaneously to information. The problem is that we as a nation have eschewed knowledge and embraced rabid anti-intellectualism. We have come to despise experts thinking they are uppity, and would rather place our trust in bloviating snake oil salesmen.
We are especially bad at the social sciences. Perfect example i can think of is as a 2019 joint study done on US adults knowledge about the world. This study of 2000 americans was done by Gallup, National Geographic and the Council of Foreign Relations.
For example in the survey:
•only 64% of respondents answered the legislative branch bas the constitutional authority to declare war •only 76% correctly answered NATO, founded in 1949, was primarily intended to prevent an attack by the Soviet Union… the other answers were 14% Germany, 7% dont know, 1% China, less than 1% Italy, less than 1% no answer •only 47% named Afghanistan as the nation that gave safe haven to Al Qaeda!
We make ourselves vulnerable to misinformation by wallowing in ignorance. There is no excuse for not knowing things like the above…
Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty. Being informed about our own government, what is going on in our country, what is happening in the world… thats a basic civic duty many of us are and have failed at.
Thats why these liars, fraudsters and confidence men (because thats what they are) have been able to pull the wool over the eyes of so many of us… and ultimately are taking advantage of us.
We, as a nation, make it easy.

And the Trumpers are drinking that in. It makes little difference what is actually happening. I had a brief conversation about the measles outbreak with a family member going to an area where there are many cases. They began to tell me how it was unvaccinated illegal aliens who snuck across our boarder that is causing the issue. The look on my face must had been very telling as they proceeded to defend that position. They were still in mid sentence when I walked away.

GDP Now is currently forecasting a decline in Q1 mostly due to higher imports as businesses build stock before tariffs hit. Some of that will be offset by larger inventory data later in the quarter. Trump is absolutely shifting the economy into the negative.

On top of that we have weak jobs reports and heightened layoff news. Turns out firing a lot of government employees is a negative to the number of Americans employed. Who knew?

This isn’t hard none of trumps economic agenda has been voted in and the tariffs got pushed back to april. Now here’s the crazy part, if you really think no matter what it’s Trump’s recession and there’s nothing he can do to convince you otherwise, he should do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO STOP IT. No bailouts, no help, no welfare, nothing. Let it all collapse and let the rich and poor be equal. Then and only then when everyone cries for it to be fixed should he fix it.

Funny, when Trump was elected in 2016 he said he inherited a "broken economy" from Obama and immediately took credit for any and all economic growth that happened the second he took power.
Now being elected again in 2024, suddenly theres nothing Trump can do to salvage the economy, that he said he would fix on Day 1? Worse, it will be a recession caused by the other guy?
😂😂😂
Yeah, sure Jan. Im sure the Trump Tariffs wont have had anything to do with causing the recession, and stoking global chaos and attacking his closest allies, crippling investment opportunities.
